Family background: Laina comes from a poor family. He and his older brother, Sezja, and his parents had always had just enough money to survive. He grew up making his own toys. Laina would draw pictures in mud, because they couldn’t afford to waste paper and pencil, and now he’s a very facile artist. Since he was thirteen, he would go into the downtown area of Jokadi and do portraits of tourists and shoppers so his family would have a bit more money.
Appearance: He has long, white hair and dark green eyes. He’s about average height when he’s wearing his shoes… when he’s not he’s at the shoulders of someone with an average height. He always wears a red scarf that his mother got him when he was ten for his birthday. His parents had saved up for a long time to buy it for him and he always wears it, to show his gratitude- he had told them not to get him anything.
Personality: Laina is rather quiet, though not amazingly so. Once he opens up, he’s quite talkative. He’s always fair and understanding. Laina doesn’t like to ask for things, especially if he knows his parents can’t afford it.
Other points of interest: He loves to draw. Also, he’s good with children. Their neighbors often ask him to watch their children while their out because they can’t afford a babysitter, either.
