Cloud ignored him and went along straight until they reached Duke's office. "We've completed the job."
"That was fast, your pay's already been sent to your cards, it's twice what you're use to," Duke said.
"Twice?" Cloud asked unsure why.
"Working in partners cost more."

"Seriously?" Ebony asked and gave a whoop of joy at Duke's nod. The black neko then practically bounced on Cloud and smacked a big kiss on his cheek. "I lied Cloud. Don't die." Ebony grinned like an idiot and shot out of Duke's office.
The Boss looked on with a confused expression. "Er...you two aren't...you know?" Duke asked, raising a brow at Cloud.

Cloud's blue eyes widened. "Excuse me sir, with all do respect, I wouldn't touch that with even a ten foot spikey pole. I'll take my leave now." With that, Cloud left and went to catch up to his new partners. Being partners in the himan league meant you two had to be together everywhere unless on the job.

Ebony could practically hear Duke's laughter as he waited in front of the building, happy as a clam and looking forward to a good meal. "Okay, so where do you wanna eat?" Ebony asked when Cloud appeared by his side. "I'm thinking a nice, bloody steak." The neko practically purred.

"I bet you'd like that, wouldn't you," Cloud said looking around. "We'll need to get a place to stay. Our next job could come at any minute, so we should have somewhere for it to be sent first."

"No, but I do see a hotel just up ahead. The guys from our last job are still probably looking for us, that kind of hotel would probably be the last thing they'd think of looking for," Cloud said indicating a sort of expensive looking love hotel.

"Oh gawd, gag me." Ebony moaned. He didn't say anything else though as he followed Cloud. It was a good idea after all. He was only pissed he hadn't thought of it first.

Cloud walked to the hotel when the entered, he wrapped an arm around Ebony's waist giving him a look that said to go along. When they got up to the desk, he first started with smiling at Ebony before going to look at the receptionist. "We'd like a room please."
"Oh, any specifics. Surely two such fine looking boys like yourself would like something a little more special, I can tell when it's a couple's first time."
Cloud was going to say something like Ebony was just some prostitute, but decided to mess with his partner a bit. "Hmm, well, if my little blackie here wants something special, I'll happily oblige to it. I do like to give him anything he wants," he said lifting Ebony's chin in what was supposedly a affectionate way, though his grip was a bit tight.

Ebony wasn't expecting Cloud to do what he did. Sure, he liked to tease the male, and honestly didn't mind getting teased back. However, the way this was sprung on him cut him a little too deeply. He'd never teased Cloud in public and would have expected the male to at least ask if it would be okay to put on the show. At the moment, Ebony just felt cheap.
When he was made too look at Cloud, his green eyes were big and glass like he was about to cry. Ebony looked at Cloud like the male was the most horrible person the planet. "Do what you want. You know I don't mind." He murmured rather dully, hating Cloud as he looked away.

Cloud frowned a bit as he got them a suite. What was up with that look? Hadn't Ebony gotten the message that they needed to act like that in case the target's men did come looking for them in this hotel.
Once in the room, Cloud turned to Ebony. "What was with that look, I didn't hurt you or say anything mean?"

Ebony didn't even finish listening to Cloud before he hauled off and slapped him across the face. "We're partners Cloud." The neko bit out. "You ask me before you start doing shit like that." Sure, he expected the receptionist to think them a couple and would have clung to Cloud and such...but he expect the male to get the key and go.
Not in the least bit hungry any more, Ebony stomped into the bathroom and slammed the door.

Cloud held his hand to his face, blue eyes wide as he watched after Ebony. "Geez," he whispered to himself, "what a moody guy. Ask him, sometimes you don't have time to ask, figured he'd know. Che."
Cloud went to the bed and started pulling off his clothes before going into cat mode and jumping on the bed to give his cat form a quick cleaning in the famous cat style of licking their paw and rubbing their fur. He hated having to walk around in this form, it always made his mostly white fur dirty.

Ebony slunk from the bathroom, nude and in search of pants. He was still angry with Cloud, but felt bad for slapping him. He hadn't meant that. Well, whatever. Stupid male.
Ignoring the big white cat, the pants were found and slung on. "I'm going for food." He announced before heading out of the room.
