All Oddities Aside [Mina/Oliver]

Ken returned to his mate. "My grandmother, Shion." he said, very quietly. "Grand...mother," he said, over the din and roar in the room. Everyone quieted as Shion looked about. "Who just--?"

"Is my mate." Ken said, pushing Alge a bit forward.

Shion blinked. "Kenny, did you just--?" he asked, totally overwhelmed as he hugged his grandson, pushing through the other big males. "And you have a mate. Hello there human!" he said, a bit flustered.

"His name is Alge, Shi--not human," Jikan laughed.

Alge stuck out his tongue and clung to Ken. He was soon laughing again though at the brothers' antics. He loved that Ken's talk totally blew everyone away!

Isis shooed the big males out of the kitchen, leaving his Dad and mom the only ones.

"Kal," Shion said, looking to his mate. "Ken's talking." he said with a smile. Mina and Oli were traipsing in and out of the room, setting up the LARGE dining room.

"I know." Kaleos rasped, shaking his head. He'd been too stunned to do anything really but just sit there and gape. "I just can't believe it." He finished, grinning like an idiot. He watched Alge flit excitedly around Ken, making Oliver maneuver around him so he didn't drop any plates. Crazy family.

"Hold it sasquach!" Shion said, blinking at Oliver. "Who the devil are you?" he asked Oliver, as Ken tried to keep a hold on his mate.

Oliver squinted at Shion. He didn't understand the words, but they didn't sound friendly. The shifter glared, backing up as he looked around for Mina.

Shion blinked, he was..."You look familiar." he said in Jshiko. "Was your bearer Madina?" he asked the extremely tall male. He only knew of one family of Jshiko who had wild hair and were wrongly tall.

Oliver broke into a grin. He understood that and it wasn't hostile at all! "Yes. My name is Oliver. Hello." He smiled, totally at ease now that he knew he didn't do anything wrong.

"You're...his youngest then. I'm Medina's good friend, Shion--the Pheonix." he smiled. "How'd you manage to get here?" he asked the Jshiko.

Oliver looked greatly impressed. "Mother told me about you!" He replied. "I got caught by slavers and then somehow left behind in a cage. Mina saved me though. Mina's mine." Oliver announced happily.

Shion frowned. "That's horrible--but wait...you say Mina?" he asked, looking at the Jshiko. He smiled. "Kal! This is Mina's mate!" he grinned, pulling Oli over.

Kaleos chuckled, grinning at the jshiko. "Mate, eh? Welll, it's nice to meet your Oliver. I'm Kaleos." The panther said, patting Oli on the shoulder. "He looks like a nice young male Shi." He was very excited that two of his nephews now had their mates. Kal was just a little more...reserved about it.

"Oh god...more and more grandbabies!" Shion said with a small laugh. "You two as well?" he asked Alge. On Ken's nod, he looked at his mate. "We may need a bigger house." he chuckled.

"Grandpa and Grandmother Stella?" Ken asked quietly. He meant were they coming?

"They should be here soon." Kaleos replied, smiling at Ken. "The old man caught a bit of a cold so he's been a little winded lately." Damn, his parents were getting old.

Mina returned, looking for Oli. "It's time to eat, come on and get a seat before your descendants devour all the food." Mina smiled.
