Faolan had gotten up and began to wander about with no purpose or destination. As he meandered into the more expensive side of town, he heard people talking about the princes' annual ball thing. The teen thought it was silly, but for some reason he found himself heading to the castle, following the throng of people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the noble classes.
The teen could have cared less about seeing some snooty stuffed-shirt. Perhaps he could pick a few gold filled pockets he thought dully.

River sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he and his father were announced coming through the gates. "His Lords Sherriff Riven and River Somnka, of the Southern clan."
River just watched the crowds boredly as they were limoed through the gates, Riven, River's father, was talking adamantly to someone on the other end of his AI about some business at the office or other.

Okay, too many people. This was so bad. Faolan tripped, stumbled, and generally fell along with the crowd. He was smooshed somewhere in the middle of everyone and was hidden from view, for the most part, and the guards never saw him.
Faolan vaguely heard the names River and Riven announced but he was sure that couldn't be HIS River. As if. The teen was suddenly pulled from his thoughts when a portly male suddenly knocked him over. Faolan hit the ground and all he saw now was feet. Growling in irritation, he got on his hand and knees and tried to worm his way around legs, trying hard not to get kicked in the face.

The two pulled up to the palace and stepped out, people snapping pictures of the Mix-breed Lord, the only Lord in the prince's family that wasn't a pure blood Vampyre, besides the prince himself.
River drew his trenchcoat around him tighter, hiding his silvery gold hair from the papparazzi's greedy sight before he followed his father inside of the palace. His mind briefly drifted back to Faolan again. How was the boy now?

Currently getting stomped, that's how he was. Faolan bit an exposed leg when it got to close to him. The unknown male yelped in pain, looking furiously around to see what had bit him. The teen was long gone though, scampering past people until they began to thin. However, the stone beneath his hands and knees had given way to plush carpet and Faolan stopped as he sat back on his haunches, confused.
Where in the world? He blinked into the new light and nearly gasped at the opulence of the place that surrounded him. Shit! How did he end up IN the castle?

"Ugh!" came the disgusted sound of the butler, Grecian as he nearly tripped across Faolan.
"How did you get in here you street filth?" he asked, hauling the boy up. "Attempting to steal from the prince?" He asked. "Perhaps we should drain you dry and feed your carcass to the dogs." he hissed viciously.
Riven and River both turned from where two servants were helping to push their coats off of their shoulders. River's brows furrowed as the blinked at the boy. Faolan?! What the hell was he doing here?!
River was going to kick himself for this but--"Grecian, hold it. I know the boy; he's not a theif." River said, stepping forwards slightly. His face was cold though, he had been trained not to show emotion around these cold hearted...creatures.

Faolan made a surprised noise when he was yanked up, his feet barely touching the floor. "I ain't here to steal nothing!" He keened, thrashing around in the male's hold. Drained dry? Okay, that was rather scary. He'd never been bitten by a vampire before so the thought was daunting.
The teen slowed his movements when his bright blue eyes settled on a familiar figure. River's face was cold though and Faolan shrank back. Was the male angry with him for leaving? Confused, the teen bit his lower lip, thanking the gods that River was at least there to stop things.

"Lord Somka, you...know this filth?" Grecian asked with a frown on his marbled, if older, features.
"Yes. Now if you would be so kind as to place him down." River said, staring at Grecian with steely eyes. The old Vampyre knew of this mix-breed lord's temper, and so he dropped the boy without question.
"Faolan." River said coldly, his voice booming in the large foyer. "If you would follow me." he said before turning to walk towards the gardens, not glancing back to see if the boy was folllowing.

Faolan sighed in relief when he was put down, but he paled at the sound of River's voice. Why was he so...scary? Perhaps the male was even more scary since Faolan knew that he couldn't take the guy in a fight. He hesitated a moment, watching River stride out of the room. Not able to stand the disgusted looks of all the nobles a moment longer, the teen nervously chased after River.

Once the two were secluded enough in the garden, River spun on his heel, staring at Faolan. "What is wrong with you? How did you manage to get here?" he asked the boy quietly, his face set in concern.
"I thought I asked you to stay out of trouble, if anyone other than Grecian or a servant had picked you up, they would have had the right to drain you there on the spot."

Faolan nearly bumped into River when he spun around and back peddled, practically tripping over his own feet. "I didn't do it on purpose!" He cried, face crumbling around the edges. His heart was still pounding, indicating that he was more afraid of what could have happened than he wanted to admit.
"You think I wanted to be shoved into this stupid palace? I didn't ask for it and you don't have to tell me what the vampires are capable of." Faolan yelled, feeling the burning of tears in the back on his nose. "And what about you River? Were you just waiting to do the same thing?" He accused, wiping a hand underneath his nose.

"Waiting to do what? Drain you?" River asked, he didn't like to see the boy upset. "Of course not. I didn't do a thing like that to you last night or this morning, did I?" he asked.
River frowned--Faolan was more shaken then he thought, and he pulled the boy to him in a hug. "Calm down...it's fine. I'll get you out of here." he said in a soothing manner, his beast purring in his chest.
"How did you get inside passed the guards?" he asked, thoroughly confused on that front.

Faolan refused to cry but he was glad when River pulled him into his arm, never thinking that the vampire would hurt him. He trembled slightly, but stilled as he was pressed against the male's warmth. This felt so nice, being so close to River. He buried his face in the male's chest, breathing deeply of his unique scent.
"Thank you." The teen whispered, though he didn't pull back from River. "It was just crowded and I was pushed along with everyone else. I fell and crawled my way inside by accident when I tried to get away." Faolan's voice was muffled by the expensive fabric of River's shirt as he related back the story.

"I see, well that's no reason to be upset. It's fine now. Calm yourself, beauty." River said softly. "Would you like a transport to my home?" he asked "Or to yours?"

Faolan looked up at the beauty comment, eyes glowing in the moonlight. The teen's cheeks were actually tinged lightly pink as he looked away from River. What home? He didn't have one per-say and he didn't want River to know that. It was just...embarrassing.
"You're home. I'd like to go back to your home." He said firmly.
