"Des," he whimpered frightened tensed when he felt the wall at his back. "That's not what it was. I did care for you. I'll help you a find a new mistress. Please stop..." he begged trying not to shake.

"I don't want a new mistress, I want you, Kai!" Des said, shaking the male a bit.
Oasis had reached the upper floor, and he drew his dagger on the way. "You will release him or face me, scum." Oasis said, his low voice channeling his inner dragon with it's impossible deepness. His blond hair was ablaze yet again, and the dragon on his right arm seemed to be alive, twisting and turning on his skin.
Des looked back to Oasis, eyes slightly wide in surprise.

Kai looked to his mate relief coursing through him, but he still couldn't get away from Des. He hoped Oasis wouldn't set the whole ship on fire, or get hurt. "Oasis," he breathed wanting to be in his arms.

Des released Kai, looking to Oasis. "What the hell are you?"
"I'm your death if you lay hands on Kai again." Oasis frowned, his fangs long from his demon heritage.
"Once we stop on Sensaforia, you and this--" Des shoved Kai towards Oasis. "Get off of my ship." he frowned before spinning on his heel and stomping away to his quarters.
Oasis caught Kai easily, the fire around him not hurting the little half Zercan at all. "Kai..." Oasis said quietly.

Kai leaned into him trying to stop shaking, he had been so scared. "I...I didn't think he would react like that," he whispered eyes closing as he curled into his mate.

Oasis just made a quiet thrumming in his chest, "You will stay with me tonight." he said, running a hand through the male's hair.

Kai nodded, "Of course," he whispered then looked up to him. "Does that fire hurt you?"

"No." Oasis said shaking his head. "I am...impervious to heat or cold." he said, pulling the male closer to him. "Do you want to rest?" he asked Kai.

Kai nodded, he was still shaken up and would like to lay down for a bit. "Can you put out the fire first? I'm just worried you might set the ship on fire..."

Oasis calmed himself--so his hair went out at least. "Alright. Come on," he said to the male as he carried the male off towards his room.

Kai smiled then went they got to his room bounded into the bed. He snuggled under the covers then looked to him curious, "Going to join me or do you have work to finish?"

'I'm dirty." Oasis stated bluntly, "But I will wait until you fall asleep." he said, intense eyes watching the male as he smoothed down his black hair.

Kai pouted but nodded, "Join me after your shower then," he told him. He curled up in the middle of the bed and fell to sleep slowly, it had been a while since he slept alone.

Oasis nodded and went to shower before he returned to Kai, finding the male sleeping a bit frightfully. Uncertainly, he laid down next to Kai, wrapping his arms around him.

He had been tossing and turning, bad dreams, he always had them when he was alone. He sighed when Oasis wrapped his arms around him then curled into him calming immediately.
