Honestly, the help wanted sign in front of the window was only there for show. Adeline's uncle had made him put it up in the hopes that the boy would get a part time helper. Well, Adeline didn't think he needed any help thank you very much. He was doing just fine. However, it was rather tirsome sometimes, but he didn't mind.
Finally he got all the people out of the store, ready to take a well deserved break. He setting up the closed sign, locked the door, and readied to go find some food.

When Cherub saw Adeline close up, he stood up and waited for him to come out. "Hey there, I'm interested in that sign."

Adeline nearly jumped out of his shoes at the sound of Cherub's voice. The teen whirled around, hand over his chest while he panted in surprise? "Really?" He asked hoarsely. "I wasn't really looking to hire..." He trailed off looking away. The sign was there but he still didn't want anyone.

"Oh, why not?" Cherub said pouting. "I've got to get a job and someplace to stay soon, I've been sleeping in the park. Won't you help me out?"

"Oh well...I don't know." Cherub's story pulled on the teen's heartstrings and he bit his lower lip in apprehension. "Have you...worked with flowers before?" He finally asked, tone cautious as he twisted the hem of his green and white stripped apron.

"I've dealt with a lot of stuff," Cherub answered. "Flowers should be a synch.

Adeline frowned. That really wasn't what he wanted to hear, but he nodded his head anyways. "Well look, I'm going to go get some lunch. I'll interview you as we walk I suppose. Will that be alright?

"Alright," Cherub said, "I could use some lunch, too. I don't have that much money left, but you wouldn't mind if I paid for both of us, would you?"

"Save your money." Adeline replied gently, motioning for Cherub to follow him down the street. "This is an interview, remember? So, why don't you start will telling me a little bit about yourself?"

Tell him about himself? That was the one thing Cherub didn't want to say. "Well, I move about a lot, a noman I guess. Uh, I don't really have a family, but I'm a good worker when I need to be. I'm the kind of guy that just goes with the flow, you know."

Adeline felt himself feeling badly for Cherub, but stopped himself. Perhaps the male was happy? "Are you...happy with moving around like that?" He asked softly, voice full of new emotion for their strange. The teen had always had a rather tender heart in such matters.

Cherub shrugged grinning. "It's an interesting life."

Adeline just smiled and nodded, not asking anymore on the topic. "You've worked with a cash register before right?" He asked as he lead the other to stand in line at an outdoor stand. They had the best panini's here even though it was only a stand. Adeline usually got one every day because he couldn't resist them.

Cherub handed over the money for both of them before Adeline could. "Yeah, I've worked with them plenty."

Adeline squeaked in protest, trying to bat Cherub's hand away but to no avail. "I told you I could pay myself." He said rather angrily after they had gotten their sandwiches. "Why didn't you listen to me?" Not like anyone ever did so Adeline wasn't too shocked that Cherub was the same.
