"I get all giggly." Kaleos confided. "Free hugs for everyone. That sort of thing." He chuckled, remembering the couple of times he'd been completely sloshes. His friends had a hell of a time dragging him home.
"You can get drunk though." The panther offered. "I'll just sling you over my shoulder and leave you on the lawn for Jikan to find on the morning."

"Sure you would," Shion said disbelievingly. "Besides, I'm not that kind of a drunk...you'd most likely end up on that lawn with me." he said shrugging. Shion frowned, he hated getting drunk just for that reason.

"Scary." Kaleos whistled. "So you're one of those mean drunks?" The panther chuckled. "Okay, so no getting sloshed. The morning after is never fun anyhow."

"Not a mean drunk per say," Shion said, a tiny blush lighting his cheeks. He was more of the kind that became more...amorous when intoxicated--and for that reason, he stayed away from alchohol whenever possible.
"And yes, no getting drunk. For you or for me." He nodded, as another waiter approached the table, uncovering their food and offering them a bucket for their wine. Shion looked down into his soup. It actually had a really good smell coming off it.

If Kaleos had known that about about Shion, he'd have been actively trying to get the male a little tipsy.
When the food came, the panther nearly groaned at the smell of the food. His steak was perfect, still a little bloody in the middle. He hummed in appreciation, picking up his fork and knife. However, he waited for Shion to take the first bite of his soup before starting.

Shion took a small bite of food. He actually moaned. "Gods...this is good." he moaned, swallowing. "Not as good as my brother's, but damn close. " he said.
He blinked at the other male's dinner with a raised eyebrow. "My, what a carnivore." he teased.

Kaleos suppressed a shudder at that moan, vowing to get Shion to moan like that again when he held him.
The panther waggled his eyebrows. "Woof, woof." He laughed, taking a bite out of his meat, catching the drippings with his napkins. "Oh, it is good." He sighed. "I'm glad we came."

Shion smiled going back to his stew. "I am as well."
As the night went on, he was somewhat surprised to realize that he had grown to be completely comfortable around the Zercan, his usual sarcastic, and cocky attitude surfacing and forever simmering beneath the occassional blush and appraising glance.
At last, they had both finished dinner, and were paying for the bill, laughing at a story Shion was telling of his youth involving a badly set trap.
"My father was so displeased with me, he made me wear that trap, in that tree, for nearly twelve hours before he got me down. I think I still have rope burn." he said wincing.

"I don't know whether to be horrified or not." Kaleos managed, snorting with laughter. "I'm assuming you finally got it right in the end?" He chuckled, the evening with Shion having been perfect. The panther couldn't have wished for a more beautiful, engaging mate as Shion.
"Your father sounds a little like mine." He said. It was cold out so he used it as an excuse to sling an arm around Shion's waist and hold him close. "Do it a million times until it's right. That's his motto."

"Ckrat'ka is a bit like that, I suppose. " he said shrugging, secretly loving the feeling of being pressed against the Panther's warm body.
"Are both of your parents still alive?" he asked, walking confortably with the large man. Despite their vast size differences (the Zercan had a good foot on him) they fit perfectly together.

And Kaleos loved how perfect they fit together, hugging Shion tight. "Oh yeah. Still alive and kicking. Great for babysitting." He said with a chuckle. "My mother is still very much into her sewing and my father into his weaponry."
"What about you? Parents still around?" He tried to ask it casually, but he was really curious to know.

"Ckrat'ka is still around...he's my father. He's getting upwards in age, though, so my elder brother Rykan will have to take over as both cheif and Shaman. My mother however--" Shion clenched his teeth involuntarily. "My mother, Saran, died recently of illness and left me as Chief. I refused, however, and turned the position over to his brother, Iori, who knew much more about Saran's tribe than I did."
He bit back the bitterness of memories that tried to resurface, and relaxed into the big male's side. "Currently, Rykan and Iori are joining the tribes, forming an alliance--if you will." he said, only telling the panther all of this in order to stave off more questions concerning his life in Jeskara.

Kaleos' heart went out to his mate and he kissed the top of Shion's head before he could stop himself. "I'm sorry for you loss." He murmured quietly. "But, why did you not stay with your father? And I'm sure you know just as much as Iori."
The panther wasn't sure if he sensed Shion's bitterness or it was something else entirely. However, to him, the thought of leaving his mother and father on another planet didn't sit well with him. Prying or not, he wanted to know Shion's reasons.

"That is a rather long and painful story, which as of now I am not yet willing to share. I wouldn't want to put a damper on the evening." he said, curling an arm around the bear of a man's waist.
"Perhaps one day I will tell you." he said, looking down at the ground.

"It's not that big of a deal, so no problem." Kaleos said easily. Not that he didn't care or anything, he just didn't want to pressure Shion. "I don't want you to be upset either."
The Zercan felt a little zing of pleasure when he felt Shion's arm around him and he smiled softly. He quickly moved in and kissed the Majikadai's cheek gently. "Hey, uh, would you maybe like to go window shopping? The storefront windows around here are really amazing to look at." He offered in a change of topic.
