"Bah," Shion laughed. "Jikan and I taught Soren much of what he knows. He stayed with us for most of a year on Jeskara--learning our ways and our basic fighting styles. " he said, recalling that forgotten time. "Did you learn after that?" he asked.

Kaleos shook his head. "No, before. When I was much younger." The panther shook his head. "So that's why that old man his able to kick my butt so easily. Secret native fighting style. You'll have to teach me Shion, if only so I can get the one up on him." Kaleos chuckled, remembering those old times.

"Will do, if you can keep up." he smiled. "How old are you? Soren's only fourty-two and you can't possibly be younger than me." he said.

Kaleos cleared his throat awkwardly. "Forty. I'm forty." He muttered, not ashamed really, but not wanting to seem like an old fogey.

"Oh thanks." Kaleos chuckled, eyes sparkling. Those golden eyes shifted to the waiter who was making his way over to them with a tray covered with wonderful smelling food. Hopefully the kid hadn't spit in the meal.

The boy approached the table. "I'm sorry about earlier," the boy said, looking genuinely repentant.
"It's no problem, really." Shion said, shooting Kaleos a look that said "please don't say otherwise."
The boy placed their food down with a bottle of wine. "It's on the house, an apology for my forwardness." he said, blushing.

Of course Kaloes wouln't say anything, didn't mean he didn't want to. The wine placated him though and he sat back as they were served, not even glaring at the kid. The panther was one forgiving Zercan.
"Well, thank you then." Kaleos smiled and nodded at the kid. Obnoxious little punk.

Shion watched the boy curiously, he seemed honest enough, but Shion had been aquainted with daemons most of his life, and recognized the signs of deception easily enough. This boy seemed truley sincere.
The kid blushed and nodded his head, before walking away. Shion shook his head. "Poor kid," he said.

"I guess." Kaleos shrugged, reaching for the bottle of wine. "Maybe now he'll be more wary about flirting with other people's mates." He really wasn't attending to what he said, more interested in pulling the cork out of the bottle.
There was a small pop and Kaleos nearly sighed, bouquet sightly sweet. "Smell this." He said, handing the bottle Shion's way.

Shion smelled the bottle, not missing the mate comment either. It was a pleasant smell. Shion smiled,"It's definitely nothing like the Ururru we drink back home." he said, thinking of the hot, bitter drink that was drunk at Majikadai celebrations.

"Uru-what?" Kaleos asked with a raised brow. He'd never heard of the stuff, but then again he didn't know about a lot of thing.
Feeling himself grinning once again, the panther reached for their wine glasses, filling them both up with the dark, amber liquid. "You try it first." Kaleos coaxed, swirling the wine in Shion's cup a bit before setting it in front of the male.

"Ururru." Shion said. "It's a bitter beer that we used to ferment and drink at celebrations. It's not much on taste, but it gets you drunk relatively quickly." he clarified.
He smiled before taking a cautious sip of the stiff. It tasted as good as it smelled and Shion was pleasantly surprised. "It's good." he smiled

Kaleos nodded his head at the explanation. He took a sip of his own wine right after Shion and was surprised by the taste also. "Wow! It really is good. That kid sure didn't stiff us on the apology." The softly panther was probably going to tip the boy big.
"I dunno how fast you can get drunk on this stuff, but the taste is fantastic." Kaleos added with grin.

"Oh Goddess..." Shion smiled. "I doubt either of us would be good drunks. And I'm pretty sure I couldn't carry you back, so we'd be screwed." he said, taking another small sip.
