Full name: Kezronial Jaeson; Nickname(s): Kez, Kezro
D.O.B: April 17, 1984
Age: 21
Home planet: Mentsiquar
Species: ¼ Jshiko, ¼ Mentsiquarian Humanoid, ½ Merman
Family background: Near 4 o’clock in the afternoon on a rainy spring day, Sheasrin and Ashlyris Jaeson became the parents of a healthy baby boy. Kez was their first, and only, child. Wanting to share the news with his family on Parinenai, Ashlyris convinced his mate to buy a small ship so that they may go visit with the relatives.
The trip was pleasant enough, and everyone enjoyed the time spent away from the busy city that they lived in. All things must come to an end though, so the small family got back on their ship and headed home. That’s when trouble happened.
As they pulled into port, a larger ship backed out and rammed into the tiny vessel, crushing one whole side. Ashlyris and their young child whom he had been holding were fine, but…Sheasrin was killed almost immediately as he was plowed under heated metal. He did manage to convey that he loved them both and wanted them to live long, happy lives before he passed though.
When the two managed to get free of the wreckage, Ashlyris was devastated as all that had happened hit him. With his mate now dead, he was now alone in the world with a young child barely even 3 months old yet. He had no job, as Sheasrin and he had decided that it was best if the merman stayed home with their child until the boy was at least five. He wasn’t even sure they would have a place to live in a while since they were leasing a house at the moment and the rent would be due soon. Slowly but surely, Ashlyris began to fall into depression.
The future could have taken a turn for the worse for little Kez, if not for a concerned neighbor. Nearly a month after his mate’s death, Ashlyris tried to kill himself as well, but was found and stopped before anything too irreversible occurred. The neighbor, a Mentsiquarian Humanoid who had been friends with Sheasrin, invited the small family into his home until they could get back on their feet. Feeling ashamed of himself, Ashlyris began to work hard so that his son and he may live happily - just as Sheasrin had wanted.
After a year or so rolled by, Ashlyris finally had established a good place to raise his son and pay for it all. They moved out of their neighbor’s home in to their own house, but agreed to remain close friends with the people who had done so much for them. The merman got a job at a factory, creating toys and electronics which he would sometimes bring back for his son to play with.
Twenty years later, Kez has moved out of his mother’s home. He still goes to visit him though, just as he goes to visit his old neighbor’s that helped them out so much. As for his father…Kez isn’t sure what he would be like if he was still alive, but does hope that he would be proud of his son. He is.
Appearance:
His eyes are gold-like colour and are the wide curious type. Like the mermen he is kin to, Kez’s eyes are slightly glazed which can lead to trouble sometimes when people think he’ not listening.
Kez’s hair is about 3-4” in length, and is a sea foam green colour. It’s a little bit longer around his ears though (an attempt on his part to hide them). Kez’s ears are slightly different then most – a fact he hates because he thinks they’re ugly. Small in size like most mermen, his are also pointed at the top and somewhat resemble fins on a fish.
Standing at about 5’, 9”, Kezro is a decent height. He wants to grow taller though which isn’t likely to happen. It does balance out well with his weight of 154 though, giving him a somewhat slender build. Currently he’s trying to add more muscles to his body, but he doesn’t seem to be having any luck getting more then he already has.
On his neck, Kez has a slight scarring from the crash all those years ago. When they were escaping the ship, a hot bar of steel lightly touched against his skin and left him burned. It has mostly faded over time with the help of different slaves, but is still visible if someone were to look directly at his neck.
Being half merman, Kez does have the ability to become half-fish. When he does this, his lower half melds together and the scales that quickly produce themselves are a pond-like colour of light blue and sea foam green. He does have several gold scales mixed in there though, just not many. His fins and tail are all gold.
With the ability to become half-fish, Kezro also wishes he could shape shift like his father could. He can’t. Well…not really. He can turn into a fish, but only a fish and always the same kind. No one they have talked to knows why, but everyone has assumptions that it has to do with the odd mix of Jshiko and Merman in him. In this form, he is about the same colouring of when he is half-fish, except for a slight darkening of the colours along his gills. He’s smaller though, waaaay smaller. He goes from being a size 5’, 9” to being 2’, 3” when he transforms.
His clothes aren’t anything that interesting. He generally wears a pair of pants that are light in colour and in how they weigh on him; yet, at the same time, he makes sure that they’re warm. While many adapt to the cold of his home planet and can feel perfectly comfortable in a pair of shorts, he hasn’t…which is sad, but true. His shirt is the same.
Personality: Kezro is a city boy, through and through. Having never really left Kerplastin when he was young, due to his mother’s horrible fear of travel, he was not one who ever felt a great need for nature in his life. He is quite skilled with any sort of technology and finds it absolutely wonderful what people can come up with, he knows how to haggle and how to find the best deals, and he is quite the social butterfly sometimes.
He loves his mother dearly, and will do almost anything for the older man. In a way, he almost feels as if it’s his duty. There are several reasons behind his reasoning. One is that his mother has done so much for him, it’s his turn to do stuff for the other. Another, and lot less pleasant, is that he sometimes feels that it is his fault his father is dead.
Kez can sometimes be very curious about something which can lead him to being borderline obnoxious. He knows this and if he sees a person is getting annoyed, he will either tone it down or get worse depending on the person.
Since he is quite skilled in technology, he can sometimes get very cocky at points or condescending. If that is the case, all he really needs is a slap upside the head or a glare and he’ll realize what he’s doing. He doesn’t purposely go out of the way to get on people’s nerves…unless he doesn’t like someone, but those are few and far between.
Other points of interest: Kez has the weird habit of asking his meats if they’re an actual person before he sits down to cook them. This may have to do with the time he was almost caught and eaten by a local fisherman…It was rather embarrassing situation.
Kez also has a habit of using Earth terms or examples because his old neighbor’s mate was a human and always used them around him.
Mate: N/A
Avatar: Nope. Need to look for one…
