Jonas thought his eyes were going to bug out of his head. Wow. The man sure had a grip. He was glad to be let go.
He shifted a little awkwardly under Soran's stare, looking away while childishly hiding behind Xero. "I'm almost twenty six." Jonas replied, daringly looking Xero's father in the eye. "And yes. Yes I do." He hugged Xero tightly, knowing deep down that he loved the Zercan with his entire being.

Xero thought he might die. He had never even thought that Jonas ever could love him, and in the span of a day, he had gone from being completely miserable, to the happiest he could ever be.
He smiled, leaning back against his mate happily. Soren observed the two, eyebrow raised.
"So you love him now, yet you didn't then?" he asked, then was referring to last night. "I know you are unfamiliar to our ways, but I will say this--not as a threat, but as a promise. It will not bode well for you if he is hurt ever again, understand, son?" Soren asked, leveling that honest blue gaze on Jonas.
Xero glared at his father. "Dad, you know how this works. He won't ever hurt me. Just like mom never hurt you after you two had mated. I love him, I have since the second I saw him, and our bond is strong." Xero defended his mate, his beast growling in agitation.
The alpha stared at his son. "You know we have to tell your mother, right?" he said, folding his large arms. The pleased light was gone from his eyes, and it was replaced by pure worry.
The retired Captain looked weary, his mate's sickness affecting him. Xero broke free of his mate's hold, going to embrace his father, the man dwarfing him. "He'll be alright dad. He's a warrior, a Majikadai, you couldn't keep him down if you tossed a cruiser on top of him." Xero reassured.
Soren simply gripped his son's shoulder, returning the hug. "You need to get dressed, we're going to see him now." Soren looked up to see Jonas standing there awkardly. "You too, son."

"I do." Jonas nodded. It didn't make much sense, but there it was. The moment he had tasted Xero's blood, he had known. That's all there was to it. He'd never willingly hurt Xero either, no matter how angry. He was glad that his mate stuck up for him.
He stood and watched the display with mixed emotions. It was good to see that Xero was so close with his family...and yet, at the same time, it made him anxious. He had no family to introduce Xero to. No brothers or father. Barely even a mother. He wondered where she was now. The thought saddened him, as did the knowledge that Xero's own mother seemed to be sick.
"N-now?" Jonas asked incredulous with anxiety. He said no more, knowing that he'd have to meet the mother sometime.

Soren looked at the boy amusedly. "Yes, n-now." he smirked. "Come now, get dressed." he said staring at the boy. Xero went to the panel in the living room, grabbing Jonas' clothes from the wall and tossing them to him. He headed into his own room and hurridly dressed. When the Captain said now, it meant now!
Soren sighed as he waited. His son emerged quickly, tugging on a shoe. He waited a split second for the boy's mate to dress before turning swiftly and heading from the door. Xero followed his father downstairs, pulling Jonas by the hand. They followed Xero's father for a few minutes until they were at a large house.
Following Soren into the house, Xero released Jonas' hand and raced into the living room. "Mom!" he cried out, glomping onto his mother. He was beautiful, even sick. His palor was a milk white, with deep brown hair that fell sexily over his mature face. His eyes were sparkling amethyst and they lightened as they saw the boy.
"Xero!" said the Majikadai, his voice surprisingly deep as he returned the boy's hug. The man did not stand however, and he was covered in warm clothing.

Jonas craned his neck to look up at the house. Wow. It was huge! Bigger than Xero's, and even his own, apartment. His grip on Xero's hand was tight until the Zercan let him go to fling himself at the pretty man who was sitting down.
Awkwardness enveloped him again at the touching scene. He wondered what the man was sick with and why it wasn't cured already. He'd have to ask Xero later though, not wanting to offended anyone present.
He stayed where he was, shifting from foot to foot a little, his usual openness creeping back. He wanted this new family to like him, but had no idea what to say or do. What did you say to people who loved the person he had been cruel to? Damned if he knew. He simply continued to watch Xero with his mother.

"Mom, this is Jonas. My mate." Xero said excitedly. He never got to see his mother anymore. Today was one of the rare days that he wasn't bed-ridden.
The kind-faced warrior turned to the nervous man, smiling. "Well? What are you doing standing over there, like a nervous teen? Come here. It's not like I'll bite you or anything." he smiled. The man appraised the handsome half-vampire in his living room. His son seemed truely happy, and it filled his heart with pride to have seen him so happy. It was all he had wanted in life--for his children to be happy.
Jikan looked at the boy that now stood nervously in front of him. He looked over to Xero and nodded, a slight smile on his face. "He's so cute!" he said laughing. "I'm not like Soren, who I'm sure has already scared you shitless, or close to it. You're part of the family now, so come give me a hug, kid." he said good naturedly, his voice like the chime of bells.

Jonas smiled tentatively back. When it seemed he wasn't about to be threatened or yelled at, he made his was over as he was told to.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Jonas said rather formerly, but the words were friendly all the same. Definitely not as scary as Soren. He actually moved to hug Jikan close, not able to resist the motherly charm. Jonas kissed the pale cheek delicately before pulling back. It felt like Jikan could almost break in his arms. He seemed to frail!
Jonas blushed at the compliment, twining his arm around Xero's waist for comfort's sake. He liked that Xero seemed so excited about all of this.

"Well aren't you sweet." the warrior laughed. He moved to sit fully up, drawing his long legs onto the couch with him. "Have you met my eldest son, Rykan, yet?" Jikan asked warmly.
"In fact he did," came Rykan's voice from behind them all. Xero and Jonas jumped, having not heard the tiger enter. "In fact his last coherent words to me were 'fuck. off.' I think." Rykan smirked, leaning against the wall.
"Hello mother. I have already started dinner. Father has gone to see the Shodan." Rykan said warmly, his normally monotonous voice coated with gentleness as the blind man made his way over to kiss his mother's cheek. Rykan turned his icy blue eyes to Jonas.
"I take it you love him then?" Rykan asked, his voice the same as it was a moment ago. Cold. Not waiting for an answer, he simply smiled a tiny smile at the other man, and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Welcome to the family then." he said, before easily making his way to the kitchen.
Xero blinked, eyebrow raised. "He's so weird." he chuckled.

Jonas flinched when the blind Zercan touched him. He shuddered at the creepiness of the guy, pulling Xero around in front of him as a shield. What the fuck was with everyone? He hadn't tasted Xero's blood yesterday and today he had. Did nobody get that? Jeez. He couldn't help that he didn't have the whole instinctive mate thingy sloshing around in his brain.
The welcome didn't sound sincere at all. The only one around he liked were Xero and Jikan. Everyone else could just fuck off. "Are all Zercan's so weird?" Jonas asked Xero, hugging him from behind, seeming very ruffled. Vampires he could handle, but the in-laws were completely different.

Xero laughed. "It's just Rykan. Trust me, he likes you. He's always cold like that though," Xero said grinning; his mate seemed to be thouroughly creeped out by his brother. Most of the town was, in fact.
Xero understood though, but he loved his brother. He didn't like that the two didn't get along. Xero was snapped out of his reverie by his mother's sharp coughing.
He again pried himself away from his mate to sit down by Jikan. "Mom, are you alright? Do you need to lay down?" he asked worridly.
Jikan coughed once more into a hankercheif he kept, folding it and putting it away before his son could see the blood in it. "I'm fine." He smiled reassuringly. "Now, Jonas, tell me about yourself. Where are you from? What do you do for a living?" he asked, patting the seat next to him.

Jonas wrinkled his nose. He smelled blood and there was no way to hide it from him, the half vampire. He merely looked at Jikan quizzically though, before sitting down on the other side of the man without a word on it. He worried though because Xero was worried.
"I'm usually the mechanic for starships or cruisers." He smiled slowly, tapping the side of his head. "I'm head of a science team too. We've just hit a breakthrough on a new project." He added proudly, only to darken. "That is until it was stolen by some vampire bastard out for my work." Jonas fumed a little, the theft still fresh in his mind. He had to get back his research somehow!

"Cool...sounds serious." Jikan nodded. "You know, being Majikadai, I could teach you a few things about fighting them off. It's rather easy, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait until I get a bit healthier." he smiled.
The Majikadai leaned against his son, his brown hair falling over his face as he stroked his son's silver hair. "Well, whatever trouble you're in, you have the Hakurion clan behind you, no doubt about it." he smiled, resting a hand on the Jonas's arm..

"Yeah, something like that." Jonas replied with a laugh. "I'll definitely have to have you teach me your fierce fighting skills then." He was only half serious, not sure how long it would be until Jikan would be better. From the sound of it, he'd been sick for a long while.
His smile faded a little at the offer of help. "Thank you, but" he settled his calloused hand over Jikan's, "I couldn't involved your family in this. Xero's already seen some of it and I don't want anyone else I love to get hurt." Jonas said sincerely.

Xero frowned and Jikan smiled a tiny bit. "That's understandable, but the offer is standing." He smiled, he liked the boy. He was proud of his son for having found such a sweet mate.
Rykan emerged from the kitchen, drying his hands on a towel. "Dinner's ready." he said, breaking the atmosphere.
Xero stood, easily picking up his mother and carrying him into the kitchen. The food smelled really good, and Rykan set the table, easily moving about the kitchen.
Xero set his mother down, kissing his cheek before going to sit down next to Jonas. Rykan sat on his other side, and everyone began to eat after Jikan took the first bite.
Xero ate a bit, actually hungry after his and Jonas' shower. He actually moaned, he loved his brother's cooking. It was so much better than his own.

How the hell did a blind guy cook so good? Jonas quickly got over his discomfiture at having to sit next to Rykan in the face of all the excellent food. He hummed at the quality, shoving it away, practically starving from having come so many times in the last twenty-four hours.
"Rykan, I totally like you know since I know you can cook." Jonas announced happily, stifling a shudder at Xero's moan. "Where'd you to learn to cook to good?" He asked the blind Zercan while playing footies with Xero like earlier that day.
