Rykan walked through the woods he had come to know so well, naked as the day he was born. He had just come from a run, and his white skin was glowing under the moonlight. How he loved the air here. His unseeing eyes scanned the forest until he found the object of his interest.
Jumping into a large, gnarled tree he liked to call Sin'ai, he laid his silver head against the familiar bark. He reached into the bark of the tree and retrieved a pair of trousers and his flute. Pulling on the trousers, he picked up his flute and began to play. The melody was haunting and sad--a reflection of his lonliness. His soul cried out for it's missing half, it's mate--yet he ignored it, as he always had, instead focusing on the notes being played by his nimble fingers.
He thought of his residence, and decided that he would go into the market on the morrow to retrieve some neccessities. But for now, he would rest in the still forests, where he found his peace.

“Ah, c’mon guys.” Jonas was backed up against a tree, hands up before a pair of not-so-happy vampyres. “Can’t we settle this over a drink or something?” The mechanic laughed nervously when the two males continued to glare at him, the steel of their knives glinting in the moonlight menacingly. “N-no? Okay.” In a flash of movement, Jonas set of a smoke bomb, the small disk igniting with a loud bang the moment it hit the ground in a puff of thick, acrid black smoke.
Jonas tore out of there with soot trailing from his black hair, the trees and bushes of the unfamiliar forest trying to hinder his escape from his coughing pursuers. Panting with fatigue, his boots weighed him down, bringing him closer to tripping over the invisible roots below him. Somehow, he’d managed to lose the guys after a few miles of staggering mindlessly through the forest.
Clutching a stitch in his side, he found himself leaning breathlessly against the very same tree that Rykan was in, listening to the haunting melody of the male’s flute. Jonas paused, looking up at the figure in the moonlight. He wanted to ask for directions to the main road, but couldn’t bring himself to interrupt the beautiful melody.

Rykan knew when the man had founf his tree. His smell was acrid with recently used smoke and he was breathing hard enough to break through a soundproof wall. Rykan simply finished his song, before reaching into Sin'ai and grabbing his canteen. Tossing the canister to the man, he jumped down, turning his head towards the man.
"Are you lost?" he asked. Sin'ai was deep in the forest, and it would take at least an hour at running speed to return back to the city.

Jonas grabbed the canteen out of reflex, not even knowing what it was until he looked at it. "T-thank you." He stuttered, stepping back from the beauty in front of him. There was something odd about the male and it made Jonas jumpy. Still, not to offend the stranger, he took a swig of water, the cool liquid rushing refreshingly down his throat.
"Yes. Really lost." Jonas replied, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, smearing the black dust clinging to his person. "Could you please tell me the way to the main road. I need to get to my friends...as quickly as possible."

Rykan smiled, a little sadly. "I can show you, is all. I know these forests, but I can not tell you where to go by sight." he said. He began to disrobe, preparing to shift. He tucked his flute into it's case that he strapped onto his back as he pulled off his shirt.
"If you'd like, I can take you to the city." he said, pulling his pants from his form. He never let any of his clothing hit the ground. It would be far too much work to find them again.
"What is your name?" he asked the man. He nearly frowned at the thought of the dirty man on his back, but it would have to do for now. It would take days to fot him to get out of these forests.

Jonas blinked soot from his eyes, stumbling back further still when the male in front of him began to strip. He couldn't help but rake his gaze over the lithe form, the boy's skin almost paler than the moonlight.
"To the city?" He parroted, trying to look away, even as he came to realize that the youth was blind. God, he was tired if he had missed that one. "My name is Jonas. You're a cat aren't you?" He was referring to a zercan, his usually sharp mind slowly coming to some conclusions.
Shaking his head a little at his own stupidity, Jonas approached the male with a hint of a friendly smile. "I'm sorry. My brain is flying elsewhere. I'd really appreciate it if you showed me. Please."

"A Zercan, yes." Rykan said, slightly amused. "I am called Rykan." he said before shifting into his beast form. In less than no time a large white tiger stood before Jonas.
Rykan laid down and waited for the man to get on his back.

"Ah, Rykan. Good name." Jonas smiled, albeit tiredly, not afraid that Rykan would see his pointed canines. From his experience, Zercan's weren't too fond of the vampires...or anyone from Jeskara for that matter.
He tried not to gasp in wonder, as a Zercan's transformation always intrigued him. "At least I won't be afraid of squashing you now." He teased, scrambling up on the wide shoulders, gingerly grasping the white pelt in his fists. He would have never thought someone who looked so slight could transform into something so...well, huge.

Rykan hunkered down before taking off into the treeline in a burst of speed. He loved to run, and thought it to be the most liberating feeling of his life. His beast purred in pleasure as he closed his eyes and ran, knowing the forests by heart.
He ran so fast till it seemed as if he were flying. It seemed like only a moment before they arrived in the city. Rykan slowed to a trot, padding towards his household. He knew he was recieving strange glances, seeing as it was not the norm for a Zercan to walk around in his beast form, especially with an out worlder on his back. But he didn't care.
Rykan ignored the weight of the gazes, and walked proudly towards his household. Rykan nearly walked into the house until he heard his name being called.
"Rykan! Rykan, hold up!" came a call from behind them. The tiger stopped and turned, cocking his head at the familiar voice.
"Hey, bro! What brings you into town in your beast form?" said the boy. Rykan cocked his head at the small, white haired male. He laid down, allowing the man to get off of him before shifting back to his original form.
"Xero..." He said simply, looking in the direction of his brother's voice. He 'omphed' softly as the boys body collided with his own.
"It's good to see you! I've got a break for today, so I decided to drop by and see you before going to check on mom and dad." he said smiling, before noticing the man standing awkwardly aside.
"Who's your friend?" Xero asked, looking at the gorgeous man. He felt something within him thump in reaction to the man, but he stayed silent, waiting for the answer.

Jonas tried not to scream, he really did, but after having crash landed an escape pod and fighting off a horde of vampires...he couldn't help but utter a little shriek. His head was still spinning from the crash and the whizzing landscape wasn't helping his stomach any. Gripping the white fur between calloused fingers, he prayed that he wouldn't throw up.
Feeling like he was clutching to the back of a racing bullet, Jonas held on for dear life only to be nearly pitched forward as Rykan came to halt. Woozy, the mechanic stayed where he was for a moment before blinking back the blur of the city lights as he carefully got off Rykan's back making sure he wasn't about to fall on his ass. He stood a little to the side patiently, watching a kid practically pounce on Rykan. He assumed they were brothers by the hair and their interaction.
He perked up when the kid (Xero?) asked about him. Jonas opened his mouth to speak, only to turn a delicate shade of green underneath all that soot. "'Scuse me." He moaned instead, rushing to a trash receptacle whose position was positively providential and emptied the contents of his stomach in a loud heave.

Xero blinked, feeling concern well up deep in his body.
"Are you alright," he asked, stepping forward to the man. "Do you need anything?" he asked worridly. Xero didn't do too well with sickness, and seeing this particular man in pain made his heart lurch painfully in his chest. 'What the hell was wrong with me?' he wondered.

Jonas gave one last shudder until his stomach was completely empty. He looked up at Xero a little pale in the face. "Fine, fine." He wiped his mouth even though the action did no good, only smearing around the dirt on his skin. "Belated reaction." He added, running a hand through his hair, unsticking the sweat slicked strands and pushing them out of his eyes.
"The only thing I need is a communicator or a phone or something of the like." He flashed the kid a crooked smile, white teeth stark again dark soot. "Please." He tacked on. Always forgetting to be polite.

Xero smiled before handing him is communicator.
" Here, um...just ignore Akeida. He's old," he said. Rykan snickered and turned offering a wave before walking to the house to change.
"Hello there baby, what's your name?" the computer purred. The screen showed the form of a seventeen year old redhead.
"Akeida!" Xero glared.

"Yeah, yeah. I'd tap you if you had a body." Jonas said replied tonelessly and without humor. Today was not the day for a mouthy computer. "It's really okay...uh, Xero was it? Thank you." The mechanic smiled, going back to fiddling with the communicator.
"Okay, Akeida. Contact Wilhelm, Carter. A.I. Basil." He held his breath as the computer searched, only to let it all out gustily when the contact was unavailable. Jonas groaned in dismay, praying that nothing had happened to Carter. Without him, Jonas was stuck on Zerca with a bunch of angry vamps after him and his research.
"Here." Jonas replied, handing Akeida back to Xero. There was no one else he could contact who he wasn't afraid of involving further. "So, uh...know any good hotels around here kid?"

Xero snickered at the comment the man made to Akeida. He could already hear the computer spouting off his hate of the man.
He frowned after he was addressed. "Don't call me a kid. I'm 17 and a rising fighter pilot. A damned good one too," he said staring at the vampire.
"There are probably not any hotels here that'll take too kindly to a Jaskarian," he said slowly. "But you're welcome to stay with me for the night, and I'll contact my father Soren to book a room for you in the Feitier Hotel near the docks. It's really nice there." the boy said, not really breathing as regularly as he stared at the beautiful guy before averting his eyes. What the hell was wrong with him? He wondered again.
