Rauidri watched his mate walk away, slightly frustrated. They did not get spend enough time together, apparently his mate was lonely, and the boy was going to call people about him. Well he would just have to stay out of those people's ways. No way was he going back to the prison!
He followed the human silently from the protection of bushes and shadow. His mate and the pup went to the second house. Since he could not go inside, Red found some bushes near the house and curled up in them. Sleep couldn't find him, but he stayed there. It was killing him to know his mate was so close but he couldn't approach him just yet.

Later that night when Michael went to bed, he had to admit that he was feeling rather lonely. Usually getting to sit and talk with his father made him feel better, but tonight it hadn't seemed to help. The cat kept coming to mind, as well. He wondered if the leopard was feeling left behind. What would it do outside all by itself? He hoped it didn't get into trouble.

Most of the night his mate was in one room. Probably the living room, he supposed. It looked comfortable and the boy was with an older man. The man looked like a lifegiver and he could only assume that was who he was. They looked like that were close from what Red could see through the window.
He looked through other windows when his mate left the room. It did not take long for the Zercan to find the boy's bedroom. Raudri curled up under the window to sleep. The ground was comfortable, and it was not raining which made it even better.
The early morning sun woke him up the the next day. The leopard stretched and yawned to wake himself up some more. A glance through the window showed his mate was still sound asleep. Red laid back down. The lifegiver came outside awhile later and drove off in a car.
Rauidri watched many more cars drive by while his stomach growled at him hungrily. Eventually it was too much for him. He was hungry, and wanted to see his mate again. The leopard walked around the house a moment, stopping at the back door. There was a small door in the real door just large enough for him to squeeze through. It was a really tight fit but he made it through.
Being human would make it so much easier to find breakfast, but what would his mate do if he found a strange, naked, man in his kitchen? They could meet in 'person' later. Red looked through a pantry curiously, unintentially making a mess as one of the shelves collasped under his weight.

Michael woke to the sound of crashing and clattering down the hall. He quickly climbed out of bed, thinking that it might be his father trying to make breakfast and failing horribly. It wouldn't be the first time, and the teen knew that he'd better intervene quickly before whatever it was that was going to be prepared became unedible. When the dark-haired boy entered the kitchen... only to find the leopard from yesterday raiding his pantry, it was safe to say that he, at least, had a right to shriek. He took advantage of the right.

Red flinched when he heard his mate shriek like that. Imagine how he would have reacted if the Zercan was in his humanoid form. The leopard shook his body, ridding himself of some dust and food. Then he walked over to the boy quite happily.
Even if his mate was startled he did not hold it against him. Rauidri rubbed against the human's leg contently then tugged on the boy's shirt sleeve. He dragged him over to the pantry, looked sorry for a moment, then nudged the other towards the shelves to show that even if he was sorry, he was still hungry.

The teen stared at the mess before him before sighing heavily. He would have to clean it up. "Oh, cat. What are you doing here? How am I going to fix that shelf, huh? And what am I going to tell my dad? That some leopard that escaped from the zoo and started stalking me just came into the house and broke it?" He was beyond thinking how bizarre it was to be taking to an animal like he was.
Upon feeling the large feline rub against him again, he huffed. "What? You want to make another big mess for me to clean up?" he asked. Michael would have felt guilty being so mean, except, as previously stated, it was a cat. "Do you want something to eat? You probably shouldn't eat people food. What do wild cats eat? Raw meat, right? Well... we have some hamburger in the fridge, would you like that?" he asked, moving around the animal, and Cindy who had finally realized the disturbance, towards his refridgerator.

The leopard snorted. Raw meat? That was really disgusting. Sure he did not mind a little pink in his burgers, but he was not a vampyre. He did not enjoy drinking the blood of other creatures. Red looked at the boy as if he were crazy.
He acknowledged Cindy briefly, but was more interested in squeezing his way around the human to look into the fridge. There was a bowl of fresh fruit in there. Rauidri nosed the bowl and looked up at his mate. Fruit was good. Not bloody meat.

Michael blanched, staring at the leopard with a strange look. Every time that he convinced himself that he was overreacting and that it was just an animal, the cat would do something, react to his words or, in this case, begging for fruit, that would show his unnatural intelligence. The teenager was confused.
He reached into the fridge and pulled out the fruit. Moving to the counter, Michael sliced up pieces of a pear before placing it in a cereal bowl and setting it on the ground. He watched as the feline sniffed the food. Would he really eat it? That was rediculous! Cats are carnivores, aren't they? Shows how much he knew... especially when the cat started to snack on the pear.

Rauidri sat patiently as his mate started slicing up some strange looking fruit. It looked like a pear from Zerca, only a different color skin and inside. Pears on his planet had a dull purple skin and were bluish on the inside.
When a bowl was placed before him he sniffed the fruit curiously. Smelled good enough for him. The leopard started eating it hungrily. It was not quite enough but he was good for now.
Red sat up and studied his mate silently. The boy was sitting at the table and looking bewildered. He supposed most leopards acted different than him, didn't they? Oh well. He wished he knew his mate's name. It was impossible to know unless some one addressed him or until he had the chance to find some clothes and approach the boy in human form.
The leopard let out a soft nose as he stepped closer to the human. He rested his head on the boys lap after rubbing his head on his leg.

Michael stared at the cat as it laid its head on his lap. He hesitated before gently putting his hands through the animal's fur. "You're strange," he stated plainly, but he smiled as he did. Despite the fact that the feline was way too smart for its species, it was stalking him, and it broke his shelf he still couldn't help feeling somewhat drawn to it. It was completely bizarre.

Red snorted when he was called strange. He nipped at the boy's hands lightly, not enough to really do anything. Of course he would never want to harm his mate anyway. The human was not serious, he was smiling as he called him strange. Though he could understand where he was coming from. Apparently panthers did not act like this on earth.

Michael squeaked a bit at the feline's playful retaliation to his words. Once again, the leopard had reacted to his words as if he knew what he was saying. The boy sighed in defeat, the kind of sigh he used when he had a math assignment that he just didn't understand. He gave up trying to figure out what it was, exactly, that made this cat so... different. He wasn't going to figure it out, and that's all there was to it.
"I suppose you're going to be here for awhile, huh?" he asked the cat as he continued to pet it. "Well, I can't just keep on calling you 'Mr.Cat', now can I? Of course not. That sounds silly." Michael thought for a moment, his hands pausing in the feline's sleek fur. "How about... Rodger? No, that doesn't work for you. What about Merlin?" He giggled at that. "Ashleigh? That's a boy's name. I like it! Well, then, you'll be Ashleigh from now on, okay?" he declared, completely oblivious to the fact that the Zercan already had a name.

A deep, rumbly purr started coming from the panther. He could honestly say that he never enjoyed being pet before until now; not until his mate was there. Any one else would need to go into a medi-box for petting him. Unless that person was a child. Then, while still not being happy, he would understand but probably try to escape anyway. His mate had the most wonderful touch though.
Red murred when the petting stopped and looking up at the human in confusion. The cat made as strange a face as a feline could. Rodger? Who was Rodger? Wait a minute, his mate was picking a name for him? He had a perfectly nice name, thank you very much. It was Rauidri, or Red... and much better than 'Rodger' or 'Merlin'--actually Merlin sounded interesting.... No, his name was perfect. Much better than Ashleigh! Under different cercumstances these names would be fine. But right now his mate was giving him a name, like a pet.
The panther snorted and walked away from the human and his dog. Sometime or another he would have to change into a human and tell his mate that his name was 'Rauidri'. Not Ashleigh. Though they could name their son Ashleigh if he wanted to. First, though, the Zercan would need to find some clothing. It would probably have to wait until nightfall when his mate was fast asleep.
Red walked out of the kitchen lazily. While his first intention was to show his distaste for the name, now he was interested in seeing the human boy's home-- from the inside instead of from a bush. So walking out of the nice kitchen that was now a mess because of a certain Zercan, he found himself in a comfortable leaving room. The Zercan sniffed around the couch and the floor. His mate's scent was definately strong in his house. He spent a lot of time here.

Michael watched with surprise as the leopard just walked away from him. Apparently, it didn't like the name. The boy shrugged and stood to follow the animal through the house; he didn't want it breaking anything else. "What are you doing?" he asked, watching 'Ashleigh' explore his living room. Michael leaned comfortably against the doorway, crossing his arms with a grin. "You're pretty silly, you know that?"

The panther glanced up when his human questioned him. 'I'm exploring', he wanted to say, but it only came out as a serious of low feline noises. Red then made a sort of sneezing noise that was meant to be a laugh.
He walked over to his mate, and rubbed against his legs gently so as not to knock the poor boy over. Then the cat lightly bit onto the end of the other's shirt to tug him over to the couch. His mate did not have to stand there like that, he could sit down. There was nothing wrong with sitting down.
Raudri nudged the boy until he was sitting on the couch, then decided to jump up himself. He licked the boy's cheek before resting on his lap. The only thing that would make this better is if his human knew he was also more than a simple panther, and if Red were in his humanoid form to prove it.
