Damijan sighed in exasperation, but kind of understood where the group was coming from. "Yes, and I believe he and I both need those for him to live," he said...Which sounded kind of odd, but he understood what he was saying. He was sure Gabby understood too. They always did understand each other.

Gabby smiled and nodded. "Indeed we do!" he proclaimed. His family pulled back, but they were all giving him a curious look. He smiled secretively and smiled. "I'm so glad to be home! I'm sorry we couldn't visit earlier... but there were some complications and... yeah..." he explained. "But! We are here now, right?"

Damijan nodded slightly and smiled. "Yes, we are here now," he said, looking over at his mate's family...who seemed to be slightly in shock it seemed because of their silence. "Um...If you don't remember, I'm Damijan and this is the newest edition to our family, Chris Latyr."

Sarah laughed lightly. "Of course we remember you!" she exclaimed. She hugged him lightly, being careful of Chris before wrapping one arm around Gabby's and Dami's shoulders. "Let's go to the living room and settle, hm?" she suggested before their mother could smother Chris with her new-found grandmotherism.
Gabby took a seat next to Dami, while Angie, Gabby's mother, scrunched up on the Wizard's other side. "Oh! Let me see him! Oh! He's such a darling!" she exclaimed, sticking out her hands to pick the baby up. Gabby gave his mother a weary look, but she, apparently, ignored it.

Damijan gave her this look that clearly said that he didn't want her touching his child, but sighed as Chris was taken from him anyways. He pushed down the small wave of over-protectiveness that engulfed him, opting instead to watch as his...mother-in-law held his son.
There was this slight pause as the woman cooed over the boy a moment before he burst into tears.

Gabby flinched and quickly moved to cover Dami's ears, since he knew how sentive they were to sound... and Chris just happened to be very loud when he was upset. Angie jumped slightly when he started to cry, and tried to comfort him. Tina, Gabby's youngest sister, quickly moved forward and took the baby from her mother to hand him back to Gabby or Dami... so they could find out what was wrong with him.
Chris quickly quietly down, sniffling slightly, but not shrieking anymore.

Damijan took Chris from Tina and handed the boy to Gabriel once his mate had removed his hand from his ears. "I wonder what got him so riled up...," he murmured outloud in thought before his eyes widened. "You don't think...Nevermind." The Wizard shrugged and gave a look to the Human sitting besides him that said they'd talk about it later.

Gabby understood Dami's look and nodded almost unnoticeably. He pouted as his son and gently poked his nose before wiping the boy's cheeks of tears. "What're you crying about, huh? It's just Gramma and Auntie," he mumbled.

Chris sniffled and looked up at his mother with wide, watery eyes. He gurgled softly, cuddling into his life-bearer's chest with a cute sigh while Damijan smiled at the scene. His mate and his son were just so wonderful.

Gabby smiled softly down at Chris and gently pat his head. "Maybe he's sleepy? We did have a long ride here...," he muttered. He glanced up at Dami before looking at his family... all of whom were staring at him. He blushed lightly, laughing nervously. "Wh-what?" Allison chuckled and shook her head.
"Nothin', nothin'," she replied, rolling her eyes. Gabby's father stood then and clapped his hands once, getting every one's attention.
"Why don't you guys go up to Gabby's old room and get some rest, huh? I'm sure your all tired. We'll wake you for supper, alright?" he offered. The man's son nodded happily and stood.
"That sounds good, thanks a bunch!"

Dami stood up as well and smiled somewhat nervously before nodding as well. He couldn't help but feel awkward around his mate's family. It was like he wanted to prove himself to them, but also had to be alert for any slips or anything like that. It was actually kind of stressing. "Okay, then," he said after a moment. "...We'll just be going upstairs then."

Gabby snickered before moving to grab some of the bags they'd brought. He started to head up the stairs but stopped and waited for his mate before continuing. He lead Dami through the hallway to his room. He couldn't help but smile... everything was the way he had left it. He hadn't realized until now how much he had actually missed being here. He dropped his bags on the floor out of the way before moving to take a seat on the bed.
"It's been so long since we've been here..."

Damijan chuckled and went over to Dami's bag to take out the portable crib, setting it up after he did. He took their son and laid him into the bed with a blanket before turning on the mobile and going back to their temporary bed. "Yeah...It as been a long time," he replied. "Though I must say, this bed is hardly as nice as ours. That was our first bed, really...But this was where we first slept together and spoke and...Everything."

Gabby blushed lightly and nodded. "It.... it is isn't it?" he smiled softly and ran his hands over the covers. "When we met...," he stopped his sentence to check and make sure the door was closed tightly. When he was sure it was safe, he continued. "...You thought I was a fae." The Human laughed lightly and wrapped his arms around Dami. "I'm so glad we met..."

Dami pulled his mate into his lap and gently kissed Gabriel's cheek. "As am I," he said softly. "I love you. I wouldn't have my life any other way now."
