Akia took the money and stepped toward the cash register, but not before wrapping his arms around Phoenix in one last embrace. It was quick yet heart-felt. He stepped behind the counter and waved goodbye toward the young couple, smiling his best, but wishing at the same time he could find the same kind of happiness.
"Goodbye you two, I wish you the best in the future."

Pheonix savored that last embrace before moving back to Cleon, careful not to spill the drinks all over his mate as he cuddled close. "You too Akia. I'll try to...write or something," he smiled and with another wave, pulled Cleon out the door. Once outside he sighed deeply, sad yet strangely happy.
"Come on Cleon, let's finally get going. I trust that Akia will find happiness soon, so i'm not too sad about leaving him," he nodded and offered a smile. "How are we getting to your home?"

Cleon thanked Akia for the sandwhiches and drinks. After the two friends hugged good bye for the last time, he smiled and said good bye to his mate's friend. He wanted to wrap his arm around Pheonix's shoulders, but his arms were full with their luggage since Pheonix had held the food.
"I hope he does," Cleon agreed, talking about Akia. "He is a really nice person. I'll try to find a way for you two to keep in touch. And about getting home, we're riding a ship of course!" he grinned. He led Pheonix down the street and through a nearby forest. They walked for about twenty minutes, since the Dragonis' had accidentally forgotten where he parked the thing.... But he did find it.
He placed the bags on the ground so he could start moving away the brush, revealing a big shiney spaceship. "There it is! It's only meant for one person, but I'm sure we can get around that," he chuckled. "Now I just have to find the door.... I'm not really good at the mechanical stuff. But don't worry, it's on auto pilot."

"Oh.." Pheonix could only breath in awe as his mate uncovered the ship. He'd never quite believed in flying saucers or UFO's but before him was a real replica of advanced technology. He set the food down and circled the ship, inspecting it with shining eyes. Cleon's planet must be amazing! He caught sight of a crack in the side and giggled in delight.
"Cleon! Hey is this the door," he asked, waiting for his mate to appear.

Cleon walked over to where Pheonix was standing. He grinned. "Yes! You found it!" he said happily. He enveloped his mate in a quick hug. "You're so smart, Pheonix.... Okay, now I just push the button...." After the Dragonis' pressed a small blue button the door slid open, revealing a small room with a door. He jumped up into the ship and opened the door.
He jumped back out. "Okay, time to go!" he said happily.

"Yes...time to go," he smiled and helped Cleon move their belongings into the ship. It was exciting, being in such a small space where he would be constantly around Cleon. Pheonix studied the cozy ship with wide eyes and breathless gasps. The food went to a small kitchen and their bags to a one person bedroom. He wondered how they would both sleep in the bed but left that for later.
"Cleon..it's wonderful," he sighed, hugging him. "I'm...i've never flown before so...i'm sort of scared," he admitted, blushing light red.

Cleon hugged his mate back comfortingly. "Do not worry, sweetheart," he said softly, stroking his flaming hair gently. "I will not let anything bad happen to you. It doesn't even feel like you are flying most of the time, it is so smooth. You might come to like it," he smiled. He kissed Pheonix's forehead before pulling away. "I have to go get this ship moving," he said. He grabbed the boy's hand and led him into the control room, where he pushed a bunch of buttons and they launched.

Pheonix loved how gentle his mate was with him-as if he would break or..something, he didn't know. He smiled and blushed, allowing himself to be pulled into the room. There were all sorts of panels and pretty lit buttons. It made him itch to touch but he stood obediently to the side, watching Cleon work. And then that was it-they were moving and leaving. The other had been right-Pheonix didn't feel anything-not even a smidge of turbulence. He sighed in relief and relaxed. The nauseating fear of flying had suddenly escaped him and he couldn't remember when he had ever thought it would be so horrible. "You're right...I sorta like this," he offered a shakey smile.
"So um...w-what now?" What was there to do on such a small ship? How long would their ride take? He sighed, remembering the feel of Cleons hand in his hair as he contemplated whether they should put away their things or not. He didn't know if it would be useless or useful.

Cleon shrugged. "When I was coming to Earth, I read a lot and that was pretty much it. Since this ship doesn't have an AI, there was not anyone to talk to. Most ships do, but I think this is an older one that the village has not installed it yet." He paused a moment. "I brought lots of books. Do you want to look at some?" he asked.

"Oh, could I," he asked excitedly, a flush spreading in pink across his face. "I packed my book away-in one of my bags but I would like to read yours. What do you have?" He followed his mate, fingers hooked in the belt loops at his waist. "And...an Ai? That's like...a robot right? Wow, you guys are advanced," he amazed himself at how far he had come out of his shell.
Now it was just him and Cleon, alone here. He didn't have to even try to hide himself away.

Cleon wrapped his arm around Pheonix's shoulders to lead him back to the bedroom, where he had all the books he brought on a shelf. "Yeah, we are advanced compared to Earth. What sort of things do you like to read about? I am sure I must have brought something you would like," he said.

He grinned. "Um...well..I love fantasy but...do you have something about your planet maybe? I'd like to learn everything I can before I get there. That way it won't be so...awkward, I guess," he shrugged under Cleons embrace. The other had led him into the small bedroom and he looked around, admiring it. The bed hardly looked big enough for both of them but he supposed they'd cross that bridge when they got there. He caught sight of the shelf of books and murmured in delight. There were so many!

Cleon grinned. "Let's see...," he trailed off. He knelt down by the bookcase to begin looking for a book. All of them had special translators, so the reader could read them even though they were written his language. Some of them were in the Fire Dragonis' language, and others were in the Water Dragonis' one. Most of the books were in a neutral language, though. The translators could be turned off, but he usually didn't do that because he is afraid of losing the control thing.
"How about this one?" he asked, taking out a plain brown book simply called 'Parinenai'. "It's an overview of Parinenai's history. You'll like it. Aaaand," he mumbled. He pulled out an aqua book with no title. It looked like a journal. "This has some things about the Water Dragonis' village my family half comes from. I didn't even know I brought it," he muttered to himself. "I didn't bring any about the Fire Breather village," he said regrettfully. "But you can start off with this two," he smiled.

"Thank you!" He grinned and took the books, leaning up to kiss Cleon on the cheek. He scurried over to the bed and threw himself down, flipping the brown book open. Words assaulted him and he immediately lost himself. He memorized as much as he could, the pages turning under his fingers as he read through it, delighted by the rich information.

Cleon smiled. He was glad his mate shared the same thrist for knowledge. It must have been on of the reasons they were mates. He looked through the shelf for a book on how to harness your magic. When he found it, he sat on the bed next to Pheonix's feet and read.
