Pheonix glanced at his and Cleons intertwined hands, smiling at his friend after a bit. "Yeah...um, you could say that." He was still troubled by what the other had looked like when they'd come upon him. Akia had been there for him in the beginning and he wouldn't like to leave the brotherly boy if he was now hurting.
He slipped his hand from Cleons, giving him a reassuring smile before stepping forward, and with a burst of confidence pulled Akia into a hug. "I'm so glad you decided to be my friend Akia...you'll never know how much because there aren't words but..." he glanced up at the other sadly. "I'm..i'm leaving with Cleon now and...I came to say goodbye," tears gathered in his pained eyes and he hated to say the words. He doubted he'd ever want to come back, but if at all possible, he wanted to see his friend again, keep in contact with him. Most of all, he wanted to confide every deep secret, and share excitement with him. He wasn't sure if Akia would believe him though, he didn't want this boy, who he had become so attached to, to think him strange.

Cleon stood back and just watched the two friends. It didn't feel right to join them. He did wonder what was wrong with Akia, though. The boy's story didn't sound very truthful. Something was up. The Dragonis' wished there was some way he could let Pheonix keep in touch with Akia. But Humans weren't really supposed to know about the other planets unless they had a mate out there; and then they would leave. He sighed quietly and stood there.

What? Phoenix was leaving? So soon after the two had just become friends? But Akia couldn't help but feel proud that Phoenix was happy, that alone made him happy. But still, a part of Akia died right then, first it was his parents that left him alone, then it was his boyfriend, now it was his newest friend that he considered as a brother.
Akia tightened his embrace pulling the red haired boy closer to him, all the while, holding back his tears that clouded his cerulean eyes, making them look like the ocean.
He then turned his attention to Cleon and smiled, "You will take care of Phoenix, won't you?" As Akia stared into Cleon's eyes, his own eyes began glow mysterious and his mind was filled with all of Cleon's memory's of his family, of Phoenix being his mate, and of Parenenai. Though it was a little incredible to believe, Akia knew he could trust Cleon and of course Phoenix. He wasn't worried. Akia pulled away and held Phoenix by his shoulders.
"You're going to be good hands; I'm proud and happy that you've found happiness. And you will have Cleon's brothers and of course Cleon to be there if you have any troubles. After all, you are his mate aren't you?" Akia smiled as he reached to brush away the tears from Phoenix's eyes.

Pheonix heard Cleon sigh behind them. He really should be making this quick, less painful, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Akia was more a brother to him, even in the short amount of time they'd known eachother, and it was hard letting go.
His golden orbs widened at Akia's words, at the fingers brushing away his tears. "Y...you know? How do you...." He couldn't get half of what he was saying out around the lump in his throat. After a minute he breathed out, " Yes...we're mates. I love Cleon and he's...he wants to make me happy..." He touched a fingers to Akia's face, gently below his eye. A drop of liquid cascaded out and he wiped it away. He'd never seen the other cry and he supposed Akia was a very strong person. He had looked so sad moments ago, now, he looked happy, though his eyes told another story. Self concious, he went back to fiddling with the strap of his bag, half smiling, half wishing he wasn't about to cry all over again. He didn't want to make his last moments with his friend strangled and sad.

Cleon stared at Akia curiously while he nodded yes to his question. There was something about him that screamed 'I'm not human'. How else would he know they were mates? He wasn't going to ask him about it, considering the cercumstances and all. But it interested him. And then there was the question about whether he had ever told him about having brothers.... Maybe he mentioned it yesterday? He couldn't remember.
The teen felt bad, though. It was clear something was wrong with Akia, even if he was happy for Pheonix at the moment. Well, they had all the time... well not all the time in the world, but they had awhile before they really had to leave. So if the friends needed to talk they could. It didn't bother him at all, and he hoped his mate knew that. Though that would only lengthen the good-byes.

Akia to say the least was surprised by Phoenix movement near his eyes getting rid of the small tear that had escaped, but then smiled again and soothingly threaded a hand through long red hair.
"You should really go Phoenix, if you have really come to say goodbye. It only gets harder the longer you wait." Akia wanted to let the boy go to live the rest of his life happy with his handsome mate, but Akia was scared that everyone was leaving him, but he just put back his kind facade, not wanting the boys to worry.
"Don't worry Phoenix, I'm sure we'll meet again."
Akia then looked up a moment to see the coffee shop not but a block away, and grinned looking back to the two boy's. "If you're going far away, then at least let me make you a few sandwiches for the trip, I don't want you two to go hungry now." Akia smiled as he started toward the shop, beckoning the other two to follow.

He knew the other was right, could feel that if he stayed any longer he would have a hard time just leaving. He nodded his agreement. “I’m sure we’ll meet again too…I hope that we do…” He stepped back, automatically clinging to Cleon, his head resting on his mates’ warm shoulder. He raised golden eyes o him. “How bout it? Just a few things for us to eat on the way there. My last earth food before I start trying some Parinenai things..” He brushed a strand of blue from Cleon’s eyes, better viewing violet orbs. “Then we can go…I’m still excited,” he grinned and threading his hand with the others, tugging him gently after Akia.

Cleon squeezed his mate's hand and smiled back at him. It was really nice of Akia to offer to make them food. The sandwiches would definately be better than the frozen stuff he had on the ship. Plus, it would make Pheonix happy. They walked into the cafe Akia worked at and followed him to the counter.

Akia entered the quaint coffeehouse and immensed by the familiar aroma. He waved toward the owner, Rebecca, who gave her usual uplifting smile as she held a pot of steaming coffee and poured a cup for a gentleman settled on a stool at the bar.
Akia went to the refridgerator behnd the bar and pulled out four boxes of pre-made sandwiches; two turkey and two ham. He placed them in a couple plastic bags. All the while, he gave Rebecca a wave that he would pay for this.
The sliver haired boy set the bags on the counter and nodded toward Phoenix and Cleon, "It's all right, they're on the house."
Then the question was raised and Akia smiled toward the two, "What would you two like to drink to go with it?"

Pheonix's eyes sparkled and he looked towards the menu hanging on the wall, proudly displaying each kind of drink. "Oh...but Akia, it's going to be expensive. I don't want you to have to spend so much money on us...." He gave him and inquiring look, leaning on his mate as his golden eyes strayed back towards the sign. "You're already paying for the sandwiches..." He had seen the wave and knew Akia was going to take it upon himself to foot the bill.

"Pheonix is right," Cleon said. "You have already done so much with the sandwhiches, we can not ask for more without doing something for you in return." He was grateful for Akia's kindness, but he couldn't accept too much of it without feeling like they were taking advantage of him. Even though he was wondering what some of the different Earth drinks would taste like. There must be something Akia would want. "Let me pay for the drinks, or do something else for you, Akia."

Pheonix nodded his agreement, clearly pressuring his friend to let them help out. It was a rotten thing to do, to scorn someone's gift, but he didn't want Akia to go out of his way and spend so much. It was sweet though and he offered a warm smile. "I want Cleon to try some of this delicious stuff but just let us pay for the drinks. We'll take the sandwiches as a gift, thank you. That way you won't have too much to worry about..." The other looked like he worked hard for what he got and Pheonix was still shy about accepting gifts.

Akia kept trying to insist however, he just couldn't get his word in and eventually caved and smiled. The two were very determined. "Very well. I'll take care of the sandwiches you will pay for the drinks."
He placed the hot drinks on the table, within a carrying holder. "There you are now. Be careful, it's still." Akia warned.

Cleon nodded. "Thank you so much, Akia," he smiled. He began digging through his robe for his money pouch. When he found it flipped through some of the bills before laying a handfull of them on the counter. He still couldn't figure out this earth money. "Um... keep the change," he said, hoping there was change to keep.

Pheonix watched, seeing there was quite a lot of change. His mate was still unsure about money. He leaned over and nuzzled his arm affectionately before picking up the beg of sandwiches, clenching it between his hands. All the sudden the teasing and the smiles...he remembered that he was leaving and that he probably wasn't going to get a chance to see Akia again.
"Well...um...I suppose we should go now. I don't know how long the trip is but I....well i'm excited to go," he offered a shaky smile to his friend behind the counter. "Goodbye Akia. Don't forget me and I hope, sometime in the future we'll be able to see you again."
