"That was fast," Cleon commented. He stood up off the bed and walked towards his mate. "I will be quick too," he promised, kissing him softly before going to the bathroom for his own shower. It felt good to wash off and feel clean again. He loved the sea, but it always left him feeling sticky with the saltiness. As he was told, he hung up his robes- on the back of the door. Then he changed into Pheonix's clothes. They fit pretty well.
He dried his hair as best he could, but then decided to tie it back in a ponytail with his red hair bands. Quietly, he walked back to Pheonix's room. "Finished," he smiled.

"And you said I was fast," he looked over his shoulder, half bent over to set up his television. He had his movie cupboard open and motioned to it. "Pick anything out of there. Then we'll go down and see if the foods done and grab a few snacks." He smiled and fiddled with the hookups on the back of the VCR before straightening, pushing his slow drying hair back. It was all ready now and he bounced down on his bed, curling his legs under him to watch Cleon sift through the movies.

Cleon gladly laid on his stomach and looked through the movies. Of course, he had never seen any of these. In fact he had never watched a movie in his entire life. But he had heard of them, and was interested.
"What is this? Pirates of the Carribean... Ice Age... Lord of the Rings... You have so many! Tell me a few good ones so it is easier to pick," he asked.

"Well," he laid next to his mate, running his fingers over the movies. "Ice age is about a mammoth, tiger and sloth that team up to get a baby back to its father-it's hilarious. Lord of the rings is a fantasy story about destroying a ring. It's good but really, really long, and Pirates is about...well..pirates. It's a really good movie with a little love story thrown in. Hmmm..." he glanced over the other ones. They were mostly ones his mother had bought him or his father sent from half way around the globe. He didn't quite like them as much as his good old fantasy.
"Just close your eyes and pick out one. We'll watch that one, k?" He grinned and lay his head on folded arms.

"Okay, okay," Cleon smiled. He closed his eyes and dramatically brushed his fingers against the tapes. When he picked one, he held it up to Pheonix. "This one!"

Pheonix glanced at the shiny cover with captain Jack Sparrow-Jhonny Depp- staring at him. The black pearl was in the background and he grinned. "Pirates it is, nice choice." He slipped it from Cleons fingers and stretched, putting it on top of the VCR. "Let's go downstairs real quick and see about supper and snacks now." he pecked Cleon on the nose before crawling over him to drop off the edge of the bed.
He held out his hand and when Cleon took it, tugged him to the kitchen. His mother was stirring soup on the stove and she dished some out for them. "Mom...Cleon's going to be spending the night alright? He already called his parents," he murmured quickly, going through the cupboards and popping popcorn into the microwave before grabbing some small candybars.
"Just make sure you get up early then to get the mail. I have to be in the office very early tomorrow." 'So that's why she's not drunk..' he glanced at the tiled floor and shrugged.
"Alright..."

Cleon bit his lip lightly. He hated how Pheonix seemed so down sometimes. He squeezed the boy's shoulder gently. "The soup smells wonderful," he said quietly to his mate's mother. "My own mother never quite got the knack for soup. It is a shame...," he trailed off. Was it the right thing to try and make conversation with her? What if she got angry, or Pheonix became upset with him?
The Dragonis' patted his mate's shoulder before leaning against the counter next to him. "We are watching um... Pirates, was it? Have you ever seen that movie?" he asked her softly.

Pheonix tensed and wated with bated breath for his mothers reply. He didn't mind Cleon talkingto his mother. He was just scared of her freaking out or...something.... She glanced at them a second, turning her attention from the soup for the time being. "See Pheo, you never talk to me. Where'd you meet this young man? He seems to know that I won't bite." After a beat she turned her attention to solely Cleon.
"I hope you enjoy it, I haven't made anything in awhile. And no, sorry, I haven't seen any movies in a long time...i'll have to check it out sometime, hey Pheonix?" He stared with wide golden eyes at the alien had taken over his mother. That was the only way he could believe this was her. Nicknames, soft voice, no raised hands or scrunched up face.
"A...are you sick," he asked, winding his arms around his torso, watching her, trying to decide what the catch was. She looked away, back to her soup and stirred it with quick strokes.
"No hun, i'm not sick...why? Oh never mind, here's your soup. I'm going to be going out for awhile with a friend. Make sure you and, C..Cleon was it? Make sure you two behave." She held out two bowls filled to brimming with the fragrant liquid.

Cleon took the bowls with a smile, since it seemed Pheonix didn't plan on accepting it at the moment. He looked surprised, and from what he told him about his mother before he wasn't surprised. The woman did not seem mean at all. It could just be because there was company but... who could tell?
"Thank you," he said.

Pheonix realized how he was staring, how he had been so out of the conversation except to lend a stray comment. "We're going to eat upstairs...um....you got this letter today at school. I'll leave it on the counter then," he looked at the floor a moment before grabbing some spoons and their snacks as soon as the microwave beeped, signaling that the popcorn was done. He felt like he should say something else to his mother who was dishing out a little soup for herself but paused, shrugging before leading Cleon out of the kitchen.
"That was wierd....I don't know weather to laugh or be afraid...really," he blushed and gave his mate a grin as they started climbing the stairs-him balancing snacks and Cleon trying not to spill a drop of soup.

Cleon leaned over and gave his mate a quick kiss on the cheek. "She is never like that? At all?" he questioned softly. They walked through Pheonix's bedroom doorway. "I wonder what has gotten into her?" He placed the soup on the floor carefully then sat down.

"Well," he joined Cleon on the floor, handing the other a spoon and dipping his own into the soup to stir it, cooling it. "The only time she was ever like that was when I was little. I can't even half remember it...." He paused to tilt his head to the side, pondering himself why she was acting so nice.
"Maybe....she's just happy she'll be getting rid of me soon-the letter remember?" He shifted unconciously towards his mate, seeking his warmth and the aura of calm he emitted.

Cleon edged closer to Pheonix the moment he started feeling the sadness coming off him. He slipped his arm around his waist in a half hug, and stirred his soup with his free hand. "I...I am sure that is not it, Sweetie," he murmured. He rubbed the boy's back gently, not exactly sure what to say. No one in either of the villages, in his memory, had been glad about seeing their children leave them. The idea was new to him, and not one he was happy about. Maybe it was a good thing. It would be harder to miss some one when you were never close to them, right?
"How about we watch the Pirates movie now?" he suggested quietly.

"Okay..." Pheonix let his spoon drop to clatter against the edge of the bowl and leaned forward, pressing a kiss to Cleon cheek since the boys face was turned straight ahead. "I've uh.....i've never said it before but, in this short amount of time i've know you Cleon, well....um...I l-love you," he blushed scarlet and squeezed the dragonis' hand on his waist, pulling away to stand. It had been a long time since he'd ever thought about telling someone he loved them and now that he did it he expected someone to pull the curtain-to pinch him awake from this glorious dream. He dimmed his lights a bit with a knob on his wall and clicked the VCR and tv on, slipping the tape in. He quickly fastforwarded through the commercials stopping on the warning so he would have enough time to sit back down.
He scurried back over and took his seat, glancing at his mate as he took up stirring again before tasting the soup. It was really good and he wondered why his mother didn't do it more often.

"...I l-love you," Pheonix muttered, blushing before getting up to start the movie. Cleon didn't really notice though. He was thinking about what his mate had just told him. 'He loves me, he loves me, he...,' he repeated in his mind, and a content smile appeared on his face without him knowing. It made him so happy to know his mate loved him. Who would have thought those three little words could effect some one so much?
When he felt the other boy sit next to him again he looked over. "I love you too, Pheonix," he whispered. He leaned forward and captured his lips in a soft kiss before going back to his soup.
