"Um....alright," he ducked his head, blushed, much to his dismay, and pulled Cleon into a book store. He hadn't been to buy a book much less get one from the library. He was seriously lacking in that department, although he loved to read. Pulling away from Cleon excitedly he skimmed down an isle, taking in all the new titles, his fingers skimming over the spines. Yes.....he missed books. Plucking out a fantasy book from the shelf he leafed through the pages, catching a few lines before he set it back. "I could learn so much from right here instead of wasting my time at school," he grinned at Cleon and bent down to see what books they had on the very bottom shelf.
(yep, you have me beat. that's alright though ^w^))

Cleon chuckled at his mate's comment. He agreed with Pheonix. Books were much more useful than that school. He loved reading books, they were so interesting and each one held different secrets. Earth books must be interesting, too, he thought.
Cleon picked out a book to look at. It was one of those books about a princess locked away in a tower guarded by an evil dragon.....
"What is this?" he grumbled, flipping through the pages. "This is absurb, dragonis' are definately not so stupid or cruel as to keep ones mate locked away from them! What sort of rubbish is this, Pheonix?" he asked, shaking his head as he skimmed through it.

Pheonix stood, hands full of different bottom shelf books and peeked over Cleons shoulder. "Dragonis? Oh dragons," he smiled, "I love dragons. Awesomely powerful creatures. That books just a fantasy, fiction," he assured the distraught boy. "Some people get a kick out of prince charming coming to rescue the fair princess slaying a fire breathing dragon in the process. They find it romantic." He clicked his tongue thoughtfully, looking down at a few of the better fantasies he had found. One had a majestic blue dragon pictured on the front, sapphire eyes outlined by the sparkles of the dragon scales.
((Sorry I took a bit to get this up ^w^ My teacher was being a hawk today in study hall -__-))

((Silly teacher!))
Cleon felt ecstatic. Pheonix said he loved Dragonis'! He bounced on his heels happily, forgetting about the disrespectful book in his hands.
After a few minutes though the part about the fire breather registered in his mind. "Well, yes. Fire Breathers can be tempermental sometimes, but they would never do something like this for real. ...I don't see how killing another being could be viewed as 'romantic'," he mumbled.
He slipped the book back on the shelf, and looked at the book his mate was holding. "Oh!" he squealed. "That looks exactly like my mom!" he grinned. He knealed next to him and traced the picture with his finger. "Only, his eyes are a little wider...," he trailed off.

"Your mom...wait....Cleon? What do you mean it looks like your mom...it's a dra-" he blinked at the picture, at Cleon, then at the picture again, trying to put two and two together. "You guys are dragons? I mean, I know you said you were Dragonis', that your planet had Dragonis but I thought that was just the name of the people," He said, a smile lighting his face. Somebody looked at them strangely from the next row and he ducked his head, blushing.
"Sorry...I should've been quiet."

Cleon kissed Pheonix's cheek. "It's alright, no one knows what we are talking about," he whispered into his ear. "If we weren't on Earth, I would have shown you my Dragonis' form. Though I am not supposed to risk what could happen if I did that."
He looked down at the picture of the dragon again. "Hmm... is this a good story?" he asked quietly. "Is the Dragonis' good in this one? I would love to show this to mom, he would be amused that an Earthling thought up almost an exact picture of him," he smiled.

An involuntary shiver went through his body at the puffs of air ghosting over the shell of his ear. "I would love to see your Dragonis form, but you don't have to risk anything for me, I enjoy you just the way you are." His lips were dry and he licked them, turning the book over and over in his hands, looking for a price.
"Well....you could buy it for your mother, it's only $6.00. And just from reading the back i'd say it's really good. We could get it as a gift," he smiled, watching Cleon over his shoulder.

Cleon kissed his cheek again. "I think that is a great idea," he answered. He closed his eyes and rested his head on Pheonix's shoulder. He opened his eyes again. "Do you see anything you might like for yourself?" he asked. "I'll buy it for you."

"Um..." Pheonix leaned into his mate, glancing at the other books in his hand. There was another that looked interesting and he held it up. "This one looks good, and it's not too much," he grinned and set the others back, keeping his and Cleons mothers book.
((Sorry I disappeared for a bit there. I had a family emergency come up, sorry ;D))

((It's ok! I hope everything is okay ^_~))
Cleon smiled. "Perfect," he said. He hugged Pheonix quickly and they both fell over. "Heh, oops!" he laughed. "Come on, let's go pay for these... or do you want to look around some more?" he asked.
The boy stood up, helping his mate up at the same time.

Laughing in delight and blushing he took Cleons hand, pulling himself up. Shaking his head he smiled. "No that's alright, i'll be busy with just this," he squeezed the hand and started tugging him gently towards the counter. His feet were starting to hurt a bit and he really wanted to show Cleon the meadow overlooking the ocean.
((Yesh, we got everything pretty much sorted out, it's fine now ^w^))

Cleon led Pheonix out of the store after he payed- with Pheonix's help. He wrapped his arm around his mate's waist while they walked. "Now where should we go?" he asked. Shopping was a lot of fun, he'd decided. This was the first time he shopped at a mall, and it was different than the little shops in the villages. Especially since it was on Earth, he supposed.
He wondered how long they'd been walking around. It seemed like a long time. The Dragonis looked down at his redhead and smiled. "Your choice!" he said.

"Hmmm...." Glancing through half lidded eyes around the increasingly busy mall, Pheonix snuggled into Cleon's side. "I dunno," he said tiredly. "Can we...." he glanced up at his mate, yawning a second before trying to answer. "Can we go to the meadow now? I'm sleepy," he lay his head on Cleons shoulder, the lack of sleep from last night finally starting to creep up on him.

Cleon nodded. "Sure, we can go to the meadow," he said softly. "Maybe we can even take a nap there?" he suggested. Pheonix looked so sleepy. It was cute! The Dragonis' smiled at his thoughts, and held his mate a little closer. "You are looking pretty sleepy," he teased lightly.
