Silence in the Night ((Quidel/Laina/Angelo))

[Laina Dafydd]

Laina blushed at the hugs; he was filled with a warm feeling. It left when Quidel closed the rickety, old door. He turned to Angelo and smiled softly. "Are you leaving now? Or do you wish to stay a bit?"

[Angelo Nyx]

Angelo smiled at Laina. He had an... empty feeling when Quidel left, but it still felt nice to have the other light haired boy next to him. "I would love to stay longer, but I really should leave. I'll see you tomorrow though?" he grinned. "At the stand by Feiru's Imports?" At Laina's nod he smiled and waved. "Bye, Lai-Lai!" he said brightly. "Tell your mother I said bye to him, also.... And your brother, too. Even though I didn't talk to him or see him very much." The cross breed grinned and walked out of the door, trying to ignore the empty feeling that came with it.

Laina watched quietly from the doorway as his last guest left. The warm feeling he'd had since he'd met them was dissappating. It made him wonder if he'd felt that way before he'd met them.

"Hey Lai! Why the long face?" Sezja exclaimed before smacking his brother on the back. Laina jumped and stared, perplexed, at his brother.

"W-what?" The older sibling raised an eyebrow.

"What's the matter with you?" Laina shook his head.

"Hurry up and eat. We got another pity donation from Feiru and we actually get to eat good tonight. Better get it while it's hot." Sezja nodded and headed to the table to get a bowl. "Sez... where's mother?" Sezja shrugged and kept on eating. Laina sighed and went into the bedroom, where he stripped to his pants and laid down on his bed...errr matress... and fell asleep.

[Quidel Midas]

Quidel sighed sadly as he got to his apartment and opened the door. He missed Angelo and Laina already. It couldn't be helped though.

He stepped inside the entrance hall, pulling off his jacket and shirt before throwing them on the floor. He'd get it later, but right now he wanted to sit down and relax. The pale blond strode into the living room and smiled slightly at the sight of Zania lounging on his couch.

The redhead looked up at him and narrowed his yellow eyes, frowning. "Where have you been? You knew I was coming today," he said.

"I met people. I-" The Incubus was interrupted by the deep growling from his stomach. His hands came down to clutch his belly. It hurt...Still it was nothing to the loneliness he felt on the inside.

Zania was at his side in a second, holding onto him. "When's the last time you 'ate'?" he demanded. The blond couldn't answer that, so he just averted his eyes and the redhead growled angrily. "You have to eat. What would your mother say if he were still alive?"

Quidel sighed, but he had gotten so caught up with Lania and Angelo and...-His thoughts were cut off as the elder man crushed their lips together. The first tendrils of the spicy taste of lust dripped into his empty belly. It tasted so good, so filling, but...

He shoved Zania away. "I'm sorry...I just can't," he said, despite his hunger. he knew the older man was just trying to help and was trying to just abide by what his mother would have wanted, but..."That shoud be enough for now...I just...I dunno," he said before slinking into his bedroom and falling into a restless sleep.

[Angelo Nyx]

Angelo sighed softly when he walked through his front door. "Hello? Any one home?" he called out into the dark house. No answer. The man sighed again and walked over to the coffee table in the living room where, as he had expected, was a note.

I have to work late tonight. Hope you had fun at Kalil's party. See you later! ~ Nebula

Underneath Nebula's neat script was a messy scribble.

Take out. -Shadow

That made the dark haired boy sigh as he walked up the stairs to his room. He headed straight for his dresser and rid himself of all ribbons, necklaces, and earrings. He sent Kalil a short text message, saying he was home and safe before he put that on his dresser also and crawled into bed. The man didn't even bother to change, he didn't feel up to it. He felt too lonely.

[Laina Dafydd]

Laina woke to the smell of cooking vegetables. He slowly sat up, wiping the sleep from his eyes and yawning. The Jshiko saw that his parents' bed was empty, but Sezja was sound asleep and sprawled across his bed. Laina got up sleepily and wandered into the other room to find his parents eating at the table, a full plate was sitting beside them- waiting for him. He quickly sat down and ate his breakfast before getting dressed to leave. He kissed his parents on the cheek before running out the door with his things. His days were always like this; get up early, eat fast, and run out the door. But today, Laina was excited about going to work. He was looking forward to seeing Angelo and Quidel today, the feeling of his cold bed hadn't help ease him last night. He quickly waved good morning to Feiru, being sure to thank him for the food, before setting up his things and waiting.

[Quidel Midas]

Quidel strolled down the street, looking every which way. He hoped that he would be able to catch Angelo on his way over, but had forgotten to ask for the area the other boy where he lived.

Oh well, they would have to just meet up at Laina's work...Which he saw just up ahead. He smiled and sped up his pace. He walked into the store and sat down next to Laina with a small thump. "Heya, starshine," he said, feeling better then he had all morning.

[Angelo Nyx]

"Where are you off to, Angelo?" a soft voice said from behind him, making him jump.

"Shadow! You scared me!" Angelo giggled, turning to see his brother walk away from a shadowy area of the living room. "I'm going to meet some of my friends at the square. We are going to hang out this afternoon."

Shadow, a tall and slender man with short black hair and lazy grey eyes, walked over to his younger brother slowly. "Who are these... friends?" he asked quietly, the way he usually spoke.

"I met them at the party. Their names are Laina and Quidel. They are very very nice!" he grinned, thinking about them making the emptiness leave for a second.

The older man stayed quiet a moment. "I will go with you," he said in a way that left no room for argument.

Angelo sighed angrily. "Alright, Brother," he muttered and they set off.

[Laina Dafydd]

Laina jumped when Quidel plopped down next to him. His heart swelled and the feeling left for the most part. He smiled up at him. "Good morning! Errrr.... whatever... you can never tell on Jeskara." He laughed lightly.

[Quidel Midas]

Quidel mulled over this for bit. "That is true. I wonder, do we ever have morning? Or do we just sleep whenever and wake up whenever? It's very odd...Or do we actually have a morning, but no one sees it for the darkness?" he asked Laina in a thoughtful tone.

He laughed at his own questions when he looked up and saw Angelo and some...guy approaching. "Here comes Angelo," he announced, waving slightly at the other boy through the store's window.

[Angelo Nyx]

Shadow glared at the blonde haired man that was waving at his brother. Angelo waved back, oblivious to his brother's glaring. He did notice when the other cross breed wrapped a protective arm around his waist though once they walked into the store. "Shadow," he hissed, but then grinned at Laina and Quidel. "Hi!! This is my big brother, Shadow. Shadow, this is Quidel and Laina," he said, smiling all the while.

Shadow stared down at the two lazily, not even bothering to shake their hands. He didn't know these people. He tightened his grip on his brother's waist and glared at Quidel. There was something about him he didn't like. He glared at Laina as well, for good measure. Angelo was clueless to the glaring, though.

[Laina Dafydd]

Laina frowned slightly but stood and bowed respectfully. "It's nice to meet you, sir," he said softly before sitting back down. Just then, a young boy climbed onto Laina's lap.

"Lai'a! Lai'a!" The Jshiko smiled and ruffled the boy's hair before his mother came and pulled him off his lap.

"I'm so sorry Laina! He just keeps running off." Laina chuckled.

"Don't worry about it, Minde, he's no problem. Do you want me to watch him while you shop?" Minde smiled widely.

"Would you? You know, he loves to watch you paint! Here," he said, handing Laina money, "He's been wanting you to paint him for a long time." Laina took the money and put it in his pocket for safe keeping.

"Okay then! Take your time shopping, alright." He turned to the boy that climbed back onto his lap. "Okay JyJy, what do you want to be doing in your picture?" The boy, JyJy, clapped his hands together.

"I wanna be... be... I wanna..... can I ride a gramba?" Laina chuckled and nodded.

"Alright. A gramba it is, then."

[Quidel Midas]

Quidel threw a fond glance at Laina before standing and turning to Angelo. "Good to see you again, Moonbeam," he said pleasantly before he saw the arm tighten around the boy's hybrid's waist and remembered Shadow.

"...And a pleasure to meet you as well, Shadow," he added as he moved to look at the smaller boy's brother, trying to ignore the glare being turned on him and Laina. He also had to push down an angry feeling he had at the way the older man seemed so...possesive, overprotective, whatever...towards Angelo.

The Incubus looked between everyone then and asked, "So what plans does everyone have today?"

Angelo grinned at little boy in Laina's lap. He loved children, they were so cute! "Oh, I don't know," he said in answer to Quidel. He glanced up when Shadow tightend his grip again. "Shadow, stop it! Be polite!" he hissed. His eyes widened a little when his brother let go of him and he saw that glint in his eyes.

Shadow grinned at the Incubus, showing off two pointed canines. "What did you have in mind... Quidel?" he asked softly. Angelo slapped himself in the face. His brother was going to scare away his new friends!!

[Laina Dafydd]

Laina frowned. Shadow was getting really worked up over nothing. He heard JyJy cry out and saw him staring at Angelo's brother. He held the boy to him gently to comfort him. He glared at Shadow as the man seemed to persist. "Excuse me, sir. But you're being quite rude. I'm going to have to ask you to leave before frighten any of Feiru's costumers, or more importantly, this child." He stared the man down sternly, not letting his gaze falter.
