Lakin smiled and hugged Manni tighter. If all of his brothers were like Mesk... he didn't want to meet them all at the same time. That would be some interrigation. "So what now?" he asked quietly.

Manni smiled and tugged Lakin towards a door at the other end of the room. "This is where the computer main frame ((I know nothing about computers, bear with me)) is. It's pretty much his brain, so don't touch anything unless I tell." He punched in another code on the door's keypad before waltzing into the pitch black room. "Lights on," he commanded then the room flashed to life. Six computer screens lined the back wall of the small room with one larger screen on the wall above the other six. The two side walls were covered with gauges and radar screens and such. The wall to their back only had the door.
Manni walked up the one on the far left and started to work.

Lakin around the room wide eyed. It was really cool, with all the computers and other computer like stuff. He laughed at himself mentally. Manni walked over to one of the computers and began working. The Wizard could only guess what the boy did. It was too complicated for himself.
He hummed quietly to himself and studied all the gauges and radar screens on the side walls. None of it did he understand. There was one screen that was flashing red. "What does this mean?" he asked, pointing at the screen and being careful not to touch it. He didn't want to be responsible for the whole ship shutting down and then being stranded in the middle of nowhere. No way.

"What does this mean?"
Manni turned his head to see Lakin pointing. "That means that Mesk is running a scan if it turns green then we're good. If something starts beeping and 'Warning' goes across the screen... well... Then we're in big trouble. But that hasn't happened yet so there's nothing to worry about." Mesk appeared on the huge over-head screen, looking rather bored.
"Manjit, do you plan on doing anything besides the regulation scans. It gets rather monotonous day-in-day-out, you know? You should give me an upgrade."
Manni shook his head and laughed quietly. "You're the best thing I have, bud. It'll take me weeks to come up with an upgrade that isn't a waste of time. I can't think of anything else you need." Mesk sighed loudly. "Don't sigh at me," the humanoid demanded, "You're supposed to be checking the oxygen level!" Mesk grunted at him.
"It's fine. It's at seventy-two percent." Manni opened his mouth to speak the computer cut him off. "The fuel tanks are above ten-sixteenths and we won't be close to running out of food until we get to Sensaforia. There, I'm done," the AI said with a mocking yawn. Manni glared playfully at him.

Lakin laughed as the argued playfully. He wondered if Mesk wanted Manni working for weeks so he wouldn't be around the Wizard. "Hmmm," he sighed, glancing at the boy on the screen. "Hey Mesk! Were you watching Manni and me the halls earlier?" he asked curiously after he remembered he was going to ask that.

Mesk grinned slyly. "Yeah I did. You can't let him boss you around like that, he'll walk all over you." Manni blushed and mumbled something unintelligable.

Lakin laughed and walked over to Manni to wrap his arms around his neck loosely. "I'll remember that," he smiled, glancing up at Mesk. He nuzzled the boy's hair affectionately. "What else should I prepare for?"

Mesk grinned. "I could just tell all your dirty little secrets, huh?" Manni blushed and glared at the computer, then at Lakin for encouraging him.
"You do and I'll put Ongi in your program to keep you company. You're always complaing about being bored. I think that would do it." Mesk looked slightly frightened then glared at the smirk on the boys face.
"You wouldn't dare!"

"Oh, Manni," Lakin pouted, slumping against his mate. "I just wanted to learn something about you. And who better to ask than Mesk? I could ask Ongi, though," he said thoughtfully.

Manni laughed. "No! Why is everyone conspiring against me?! If you want to know something ask me!"
Mesk smiled and whispered, "His favorite color blue-grey."
Manni glared at him. "Hey!"

Lakin laughed and gave Manni a quick kiss. "Anything else I should know? Before we push Manni's buttons toooo much," he added.

Mesk shrugged. "He doesn't like scary things. He has a rampant imagination so he gets all kinds of crazy nightmares when he sees scary stuff," the AI stated smuggly with a grin. Manni blushed and hid his head.
"Only REALLY scary stuff," he mumbled quietly.

Lakin chuckled lightly. "Then I will just have to protect you from scary things," he said simply. "Like my dad," he laughed. "He's one strange Wizard."

"Really? That's neat. I think what you did to Orange this morning was really cool. I wish I could do magic stuff like that. But I'm just boring. All I can do is put stuff together." Manni sighed then hugged Lakin. "Well, that didn't take nearly as long as I though. Thanks for being cooperative Mesk." Mesk just shrugged and Manni rolled his eyes. "Well, let's go... I guess."

Lakin hugged Manni close to him, not letting him move. "You're not boring," he said softly next to the brunette's ear. "I think what you do is amazing." He pulled away one of his arms, leaving the other around his mate's waist so he could poke his nose. "And don't say otherwise, I don't like people calling my mate boring."
