Teryl blinked at the small card in front of him. It didn’t go away. He blinked again and it was still there. He couldn’t help what he did next…
The blonde squealed and latched onto his pseudo-brother. “His number! His number! I have…his number,” he finished off in a whisper as everyone in the restaurant stared at them.
Klein laughed softly. “So I heard,” he muttered, happy for his friend.
He pulled Klein to his feet before heading outside with the redhead in tow. The hybrid grinned at the other and skipped a bit in a circle before he stopped, breathless. “I’m…I’m just so happy! I don’t even know him or anything and it just…Something just ‘clicks’ when he’s there, you know?” he asked, suddenly feeling so foolish for acting as he had. Maybe he had been too enthusiastic…It was kind of sad.
Klein just shook his head and patted the younger’s shoulder. “It’ll be fine. I think I understand what you’re talking about, but…” He shrugged and laughed. “So you actually going to call him?”
The blonde chucked nervously. “Um…sure?”

Kin looked at his father who was sitting across from him. The people around them, the other’s of the board were people that he blocked out for a moment, just listening to his father’s deep voice as he spoke of their company.
He toyed around with the pen between his fingers and tapped his fingertips of his right hand on the wooden table. Kin was happy when the meeting was over and watched everyone leave, getting up himself.
Kin waited until he was alone with his father and smiled at the older man. “It’s going well.” He decided and walked over to his father. They shared a quick hug and a smile. “Did you see dad?”
Vahan nodded. “Yes, and remember tonight there is someone to meet you.”
Kin looked up at his father and watched his dark eyes twinkling. He cleared his throat and looked down at his hands. “I have a dinner planned tonight.” Kin breathed and looked up at his father again. “I am sorry father.”
Vahan frowned and crossed his arms, stepping back. “You know what I expect of you Kin and I expect you to be there tonight.”
“I can’t...” Kin whispered and bit his lip.
Vahan started to loose his patience, looking at his oldest son. “Who are you having dinner with then?”
“Someone I met at lunch.” Kin said and shifted, placing a hand on his hip.
The older man started laughing. “Someone you met at lunch!?” To Vahan it sounded ridiculous.
Kin sighed and crossed his arms. “Yes,” He breathed and looked around, eventually resting his eyes on his father. “Please father...”
Vahan nodded. “Very well then, but you will need Doryn next week.”
Kin nodded and smiled. “Thank you father.” He chuckled and pressed a kiss to Vahan’s cheek.
“Well, get to work.” Vahan muttered and watched his son leave.
Later that day Kin found himself tapping his fingers on his desk, glancing at the phone that was standing on his desk every so often. He looked down at the documents that were lying open on his desk and back at the phone again until he started getting tired of himself.
He sat back and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket, playing around with it in his hands. His mind wandered to his father and the dinner he was going to have with Doryn, another person who had his father’s favours. Kin rubbed his temples, developing a headache. He really hated those set up dates but he knew they pleased his father, and that was what mattered.

Teryl and Klein opened the door to their house and walked in. Teryl immediately zoomed into the living room where the family…and the phone were situated. Klein followed after him and rolled his eyes when he saw the other had positioned himself directly in front of the phone, a look of someone building up courage on his face.
“Hey, mom…bro. Where’s dad?” the redhead asked as he sat down on one of the three couches in the room. Shern smiled at his son and nodded in greeting.
“He’s upstairs, dear. I have to ask though…What’s up with Ter? He didn’t even greet us when he came in. Oh! Did he get the part at the audition?” the older man grinned widely before Klein shook his head. “Then what?”
“Well, we don’t know about the audition, but this is better.”
“Better then getting a role in a play?” The black haired man looked skeptically at his son. Everybody knew that to the small actor, nothing was better then getting a part in a play.
Said actor glanced at them in annoyance. “I am still in the room, you know. And…I don’t really know if it’s better then getting a role, but…I met this guy…”
Shern laughed. “You got yourself a boyfriend, eh?” The blonde blushed and shook his head, stuttering. “I see…So, when do I get to meet him?” the lifegiver asked as he got up and hugged his ‘sort of’ son.
From his spot on the couch, Mercta glanced up from his game. “Teryl gotta boyfriend? When did that happen?” the young boy asked, tilting his head to the side curiously.
The birthday boy pouted as his family before shrugging himself out from Shern’s hug. “He’s just a friend. We met during lunch and he had to leave early, so he gave me…us, his business card and said to call.”
Klein began to cough. It was obviously very fake and Teryl turned to him with a raised eyebrow. “Oh, dear. It would appear that I am sick. Therefore, I cannot go to dinner tonight. Whatever shall I do? Oh, no,” he said in a false monotone before winking at his best friend.
The blonde grinned. Now he would be able to go to dinner with just Kin. Score! “Sorry about that, pal. I guess I’ll just have to call Kin and tell him that it’ll just be him and me…,”he said, able to sound honestly upset at his friend’s ‘sickness’ despite the obvious joy on his face.
He turned and picked up the phone to dial the number he had memorized from studying the business card all the way home. He could hear his family shuffling out so that he could have privacy and he smiled at the gesture from them. For a bit, he heard the line ring. When it picked up, he adopted his best confident tone and said, “Hello, may I speak to Kin Jinan, please?”

Kin sighed, sitting back in his chair. He played around with his pen. A smile appeared on his face when he heard this phone and quickly picked up. "Yes Dinal?"
The silver haired man listened to the soft melodic voice of the young man. "Mr. Jinan, Teryl Nepin would like to speak with you."
Kin grinned. "All right, put him through." He replied and waited until he heard a familiar beep. "Teryl..." He breathed, knowing that the blonde was on the other side. "I'm glad you called." He continued, letting his pen fall to his desk. He placed his elbows on the desk and leaned forwards, listening to the other's reply on the other side. "Does this mean you would like to go to dinner with me?" He asked suddenly and bit on the inside of his cheek, waiting for a reply.

Teryl grinned into the phone as Kin asked if he wanted to eat dinner with him. "No, I just want you to feed me," he said before chuckling. "Seriously though, I would love to eat dinner with you. Er...Klein wouldn't be coming with us though. I..um, hope you don't mind."
He nervously twisted the phone cord in his hands. He didn't know what he would do if that was a problem with the silver-haired young man. He really hoped that Kin wouldn't want to call off the meal until his friend was 'better'...

Kin couldn't help but chuckle when he heard Teryl on the other side. He was glad to hear that the other hadn't changed his mnd, ... yet all though Klein would no longer join them.
He sat back in his chair when Teryl asked him if he would mind that Klein would no longer come. "Oh...," He muttered and shook his head to himself. "Of course not, he will miss out on all the fun though!" Kin chuckled as he replied.
"Where do you live, I will pick you up at...hmmm..." He looked at his watch. "Seven?"

Glancing at a random clock hanging on the wall, Teryl nodded in answer before he realized that Kin wouldn't be able to see that. "Yeah, sure...Seven's great. I live on the eastern side of the city....Do you know where the entertainment section is over here? There's a giant factory that makes keyboards that's near it..." He shook his head, knowing he was getting off track.
"Anyways, I live in one of the thin houses along Dreason Lane. My address is 1092b...It's the only one with blue brick and a black roof. Yeah, I know it's weird. Don't ask...," he said, smiling.
He pulled lightly on a strand of hair that kept falling in front of his eyes. Maybe it was time for a cut? Shern had mentioned that his hair looked kind of shaggy...
"So, um, where exactly are we going?" he asked looking around for a mirror to get a better look of his hair in. "Is there a dress code I should be aware of? Well, besides the wearing of pants...and a shirt. Those are rather needed, don't you think?"

Kin chuckled, hearing the boy on the other side shooting question after question towards him. He looked up when he heard the door to his office open and watched Yevan step inside, softly mentioning that it was urgent.
Kin mouthed the words: "Just a second." and smiled at his best friend. He returned to his conversation with Teryl just to hear him ask if there was a sort of dress code for the restaurant they would be going.
"Well," He started and frowned, rubbing his forehead. "Do you know Rosalba Perele?" Kin asked softly and tucked a strand of his silver hair behind his ear. He didn't know if Teryl would be uncomfortable going to one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. He played with his tie, hoping that the Rosable wouldn't back Teryl off, or make him feel uncomfortable. "That's where I'm taking you, so...."
Kin shifted in his chair and bit the inside of his cheek. "Don't worry," He continued quickly. "It's not like you have to wear a suit and everthing...just make sure you look nice..." Kin said and then whispered in a soft voice: "But I don't think that would be much of a problem for you..."
Yevan rolled his eyes and placed his hands on his hips, watching Kin.

Teryl blushed and brought a hand up to his cheeks, feeling the warmth of them underneath his fingers. "Thank you," he said, smiling. "You flatter me. I mean, taking me out to dinner and saying such sweet things...I don't think anyone as gorgeous as you has ever said that to me before!"
He paused when he realized what he said and his blush grew. "Um...I mean...er...," he stammered before he trailed off and groaned, running a hand through his hair. "So, seven o' clock, eh? I'm sure I can whip up something to where by then..."
He sighed and added in a softer tone, "And thanks, really. Bye..."

Kin chuckled as he heard the line go dead and shook his head in amusement. Then he heard Yevan's voice who pulled him out of his thoughts about the blonde he had met earlier that day in the restaurant.
"We have a problem..." Yevan stated.
Kin frowned. "What kind of problem."
Yevan cleared his troath. "Remember Kean & Uriel? They no longer want to support the campaign..."
Kin sighed and rubbed his temples. "I'll try to speak with Kean and see what I can get out of that guy...Uriel might have been blowing bad ideas into his head."
Yevan nodded and then started to leave. He stopped in front of the door and turned, watching Kin. "I hope you have a good evening..." He whispered and then he left quickly.
Kin watched the closed door, frowning. The look in Yevan's eyes had looked somewhat like jealousy and defeat, but to him it didn't make much sense. The silver haired man shrugged it off and started to look in his computer for the number of Kean and Uriel.

Teryl stared at the hung-up phone with a small smile until he realized that if Kin was coming at seven, he only had about…two to three hours to get ready, considering that it was soon nearing four. He had nothing to wear! Well, certainly not something for a date…Especially since it was ‘Rosalba Perele’ Kin was taking him to!
He ran towards the door and yelled for Shern who, thank the worlds, was a fashion designer. When the elder man came in, the blonde looked at him pitifully. “I need clothes for going to Rosalba Perele with a hot guy…Not that we’re dating though!” he quickly added when he saw the smug look on the life-giver’s face.
“Okay, hun…Let’s get you ready for your ‘friend’,” he said, teasing as he pulled Teryl into a backroom. The hybrid merely let himself be pulled with an almost scared look on his face. Who knew what the older man would do to him, after all?
*LATER*
Teryl squirmed in his outfit, frowning. “Do I really look okay in this, guys?” he asked hesitantly. It was nice. It wasn’t something he normally wore, but it wasn’t so uncomfortable and it looked decent. The question though was would Kin think so? The other had said the blonde looked good when he met him, but…
Klein stared at him from the couch with a raised eyebrow. “Teryl…You look awesome. I would jump you if it wasn’t…Well, you. My mom is one of the best in the biz, you know. He wouldn’t stick you in something ugly.”
“Damn right,” Shern said proudly. He grinned and clasped his hands together before rushing off to the stairs. All the children exchanged looks before the black haired man came down with a camera and Zeksan. He flashed a few pictures and sniffed. “This is so great…I’ve never seen you out of jeans and a tunic shirt before.”
The hybrid had to suppress the exasperated look on his face as he glance down. He had to admit, it was different. He wore a pair of black dress pants, a shimmery green shirt that matched his eyes, and had his hair fluffed up even more.
Zeksan and Merta didn’t have much to say. Zeksan was still tired from the nap he had been having upstairs, and Mercta was too concerned with his game. They did say ‘good-bye’ and to have ‘fun’ as he stepped outside to wait for his date…Er, dinner partner…friend…Yeah.

Kin watched the houses pass. He leaned back into his seat and cleared his throat until he finally noticed the house Teryl had been talking about. He had decided against his father’s idea of being brought to Rosalba with a limousine and had taken his own car, which probably drew just as much attention. The silver sports car was just on the market and only the richest people of Mentsiquar owned one.
The silver haired man stopped in front of the house and smiled when he saw Teryl waiting for him outside. He leaned over in the car and opened the other door for the blonde, taking in the sight of the blonde. Kin couldn’t help but notice that the blonde looked seriously cute wearing dress pants and the green shirt. “Get in.” Kin told him, watching the blonde.

Teryl smiled brightly as he got into the vehicle. He glanced over at Kin, silently marveling that the other would want to take him anywhere. He felt so plain compared to the older boy. There was just something about him...
The blonde squirmed around to get situated before turning in his seat to see Kin more properly. "So...," he started to say before drifting off. He couldn't really think of something to say though; it was more just one of those things used as a conversation starter.
He played with one of the buttons on his shirt, nervously. He tried to think of something, but all he could come up with was: "Eheheh...How has your day been?"

Kin raised an eyebrow. "Bad..." He muttered, his eyes wandering to Teryl. He hadn't been lying, the only plus of his day was meeting the blonde he was next to now. After calling Kean he had found that he had been right. Uriel had been a bad influence on Kean and he couldn't change Kean's mind about their companies working together.
It wasn't a huge loss but he hated it when something he worked for went wrong or ended without reason. He had tried to stay calm but still, he had blown up.
"Yours?" He asked suddenly.

Teryl blinked at the sudden question. "Um...Pretty good, I guess. Kinda nerve-wracking in parts," he said thinking back to the audition he had before meeting Kin and afterwords waiting for the other.
"Well, besides some little things, it was good. I mean, I got to meet you for one thing." He grinned at the other, laughing a bit. "So, what have you been up to? Like... what made your day so bad?" He blushed before quickly adding, "If you don't mind me asking."
