Boredom

[Terry]

Terry laughed and smiled wider than he had ever done before. His green eyes were shining like emeralds as they absorbed everything there was to see. In order to see more, Terry gripped the metal bar that encircled the rooftop, and leaned over slightly.

However, he forgot at that moment he was on land and gravity was greater than in water, and one foot slipped sending him flying forward. Fortunately his hands were still grasped on to bar, and caught himself. However, as he was bent over, green eyes spied something in one of the store windows below. "What is that?" Terry whispered with awe, wanting a closer look.

Swinging himself to an upright stance, Terry reached for Heiko's hand and pulled him back to the door to leave the roof top, but as they rushed down the steps their hands slipped apart.

Terry unfortunately was too occupied with the object he had seen and took off through the front door dodging away from passing customers. He crossed the crowded street only to stop abruptly in front of the certain window. Both hands on the glass, stared at the small object with glassy blue eyes. It was a small furry black stuffed kitten. Terry thought it was so adorable!

[Heiko]

Heiko hurried after Terry. His hand felt unusually cold without his friend holding it. He wished the other boy hadn't let go off him. When he saw the Merman staring into a store window, he slowed down and tried to catch his breath. He couldn't deny that it had terrified him when it looked as if the boy was going to fall off the roof. And he was prepared to pull him back over, but he was quick to straighten himself.

"What did you see?" he asked, looking through the window. Instintly he spotted the adorable stuffed kitten. Heiko grinned. "Let's go inside," he suggested. He grabbed the boy's hand and pulled him inside. "This is really cute," he smiled. He picked up the stuffed animal. "Would you like it?" he asked, but went up to the counter and paid for it before Terry could answer.

"Here," he handed the toy over. "There's two cats that look like this that live at my house," he said. "Would you like to see them?"

[Terry]

Terry smile faltered slightly as he saw Heiko take the kitten away, but it returned as the boy handed the back the furry toy.

The young merman cuddled his face into the soft fur. It was just so soft!

Terry looked up for a brief moment, suddenly realizing that Heiko must of purchased it. The boy's smile widened as he threw his arms around the other boy, "I love it! Thank you Heiko!"

As Terry snuggled his face into Heiko's hair, he just then remembered and whispered in the boy's ear, "Do you really have kittens like this one at your home?"

[Heiko]

Terry was hugging him, and snuggling into his hair. It felt really nice, to say the least. But still a little awkward but... who was he to complain? Heiko slowly brought his arms around his friend's waist and brought him a little closer.

"Hm?" he mumbled, having been distracted by how nice the Merman smelled. Like the ocean. "Oh, um yeah. Well, they aren't really mine. They just stay at my house because I feed them. I call them Moon and Sun, because of their eyes. They're adorable!" he grinned. "Do you want to see them?" he asked.

[Terry]

Terry could feel a pleasant shock course through his entire body, as he felt Heiko return the embrace.

The merman was to say the least enjoying himself, just standing there hugging his new friend. He didn't really want that moment to end. So, when Terry barely heard Heiko inviting him to meet his pet kittens, the Merboy only nodded a "Mhmm" into the mop of brown hair, not even moving an inch.

[Heiko]

Heiko closed his eyes, content with standing there as well. After awhile though, he thought they should start heading home. He rubbed Terry's back slowly then pulled away- very reluctantly. "We should go now, before it gets too late," he said quietly.

He grabbed his friends free hand, the other one had the toy, and led him out of the store.

[Terry]

Terry was a little saddened for the loss of the warmth he felt from Heiko's touch. But the touches had also left their marks, a burning sensation spread throughout the boy's body. He wouldn't be satisfied until he could have that soothing warm touch back.

For now, he had to contempt himself with holding the boy's hand as the merman obediantly followed the young Zercan through the crowded streets.

[Heiko]

Heiko swung his and Terry's hands lazily. "It doesn't look like anyone's home," he said when they approached a dark two story house. "Oh well, you can meet my parents later!" he smiled. The second they walked into the house and switched on the light, two little black fuzz balls bounded in to greet them.

"Mew! Mew!" were the cats hello. The Zercan grinned at them. "Hello, sweeties," he said happily and knelt down to scratch behind their ears. He picked the one with yellow eyes up and handed him to Terry. "This Sun. And this is Moon," he said, picking up the one with blue eyes. "And this is Terry, kitties." Sun licked Terry's cheek. They were both purring very loudly and rubbing against the people holding them.

[Terry]

The soft black fur rubbing against his skin, Terry felt his heart melt immediate a the first touch. He had never felt anything this soft and smooth. Of course nothing stayed its original form when it was doused in water. The boy lifted the kitten his hands up and rubbed his nose against the tiny kitten's. He hugged the small creature into the crook of his neck, but pulled back surprised when a strange low sound came from the kitten's body. Confused his green eyes looked to Heiko for an answer.

"What was that sound? Is something wrong with her?"

In fact the kitten was just purring, snuggling peacefully against Terry's bare chest.

[Heiko]

Heiko blinked in confusion then started laughing. "T-that is j-just Sun purr-purr-purring," he said in amusement. Moon got nervous when the boy starting laughing harder and leaped off his lap, and onto Terry's shoulder where he got very comfortable. "It's perfectly normal," he continued when he calmed down. "It means he's- it's a boy, Moon is the girl-happy. Cats purr when they are happy. I thought everyone knew that?"

[Terry]

To say that the little black kitten jumping upon his shoulder surprised him would be a big understatement. Terry was downright startled, but wiped it quickly out of his mind as he felt the kitten's soft fur brush against his cheek. Terry smiled and nuzzled back in return.

"Thanks Heiko, I'll remember that. There aren't that many Zercan cats were I'm from." Terry bowed his head so his green hair fell his eyes, cheeks burning with embarrassment.


((Oh, and about the picture this just a warning, but I'm always changing my pictures, whenever I find an adorable image of my guy, Terry, I put up and save the other in my file. And the file is very full!))

Heiko smiled apologetically. "Aw, I'm sorry. I didn't even think of that. Cats don't normally live underwater do they?" he asked. He slid next to Terry's side, and after a second of hesitation, wrapped his arm around his waist in a half hug.

"Forgive me?" he whispered with a pout. The Zercan nuzzled the other boy's neck, trying to immitate the kittens.

[Terry]

Terry felt so warm with all three cats nuzzling themselves against him. This was so much more enjoyable than a cold watery hug from the other merman back home. He soon heard Heiko start to purr as well into the crook of his neck. Terry felt his heart jump at this. Setting Sun down on a table behind him, Terry quickly returned to wrap his arms around the young Zercan.

'I could definately get used to this.' Terry thought as he tightened his embrace, burying his face the light brown mop of soft hair. He could just hold the boy all the time. Unconsciously, he breathed out, "Mine."

All the while, the two black kittens busied themselves playing with Terry's thick, long, soft green hair.

[Heiko]

Heiko wrapped his other arm around Terry happily. When he heard the boy's muttered 'Mine' he felt his heart swell and he tightened his hug. A soft smile formed on his face. "I like the sound of that," he murmured. He kissed the boy's cheek before going back the nuzzling him.

[Terry]

Terry was completely content with staying right where he was. He smiled broadly into the boy's hair. His cheeks were flushed red and he could feel his whole body burn hot. It was a completely new feeling, and Terry liked it.

However, his own kind had funny way of sneaking up on him. Reluctantly, the mood was broken along with the embrace as Terry began to cough dryly. He began to shiver slightly the loss of warmth.
