Heiko shrugged. "Anything and everything," he said softly. He shook his head. What was that?? "I mean, you know. Anything you feel like you need to tell me," he added.

Terry just smiled at the boy, then placed his hand under his chin, pondering a moment. "Everything, huh...I really do love my home in the water, but I also LOVE adventure," at this green eyes began to shine as bright emeralds in the sun. "I want to travel all over the universe and see all the planets. I've tried to leave for many years, but my father is very protective of me, ever since my mother died giving birth to me. But he has taught me a lot about Parinenai, it's just I want to about other places besides my home. This the longest I've every been away from home. I just hope it lasts, and my father doesn't send his guards to track me down. Didn't you know, he is one of the Lords of the Mermen of Parinenai's waters?"
Terry smiled a little more as he stared into the boy's vibrant blue eyes, "you know Heiko, you eyes remind of Parinenai's crystal river. It is so clear and quiet that I can swim as I fast I want in the current, without running into any fish or other mermen. I can be pretty fast both on land and in the sea."

Heiko smiled. "My eyes remind you of the river?" he asked quietly. He was still thinking over what Terry had told him. It must have been hard being raised by only one parent. He couldn't even imagine it, but if that was how Terry lived then he must be used to it by now. Not to mention he was the son of a Lord, though. He wondered how that was. Were they even allowed to talk? He certainly wasn't a Lord or anything of the sort.
The Zercan smiled at Terry. He didn't think anyone could keep him from talking with this boy.

"Yea," Terry sighed as he began to get lost the boy's deep blue depths. "Maybe I'll take you there sometime, there's one spot that's my favorite, when the sunset first touches the land. The water looks as though it's glowing."
After a few minutes of talking, the waiter had come back with two plates of steaming dishes. Terry looked curiously at the meal, having never had cooked fish before. Prodding a piece with his fork, the merman took a small bite. He squealed quietly with delight. "It's soo good and tender. I don't think I could eat raw fish again." he continued to eat, savouring each bite.

Heiko couldn't help chuckling. Terry's reaction was just too funny. "You are so cute, Terry," he blurted out. He bit his lip and started eating his own fish to hide his blush. It really was good today. Then he swallowed. "I would love to see your favorite river. It sounds beautiful," he said, so the other boy wouldn't think on his other comment too much. Hopefully.

All the while, Terry was busy enjoying his meal, he was ever so thankful for be able to have such good food. What's more he thanked that he was able to spend and share this time with such a cute companion. But Terry had to wonder silently in the back of his mind, how long this would last. The young merman made a promise to himself, he would spend as much time with Heiko as he possibly could.
Pausing between his savoury bites, Terry looked up to focus again on the boy across from him. He smiled, closed his eyes, and reached out within his mind toward the boy. Terry's father would be scolding him right now, saying a young merman should never use his mind-reading power inappropriately, but you know Daddy's not here...
Terry concentrated and reached out to wrap his arms around Heiko in a gentle embrace, and tenderly whispered in the back of Heiko's mind, "You know if I'm so cute, then you are very beautiful."

Heiko was conflicted between smiling back at Terry and giving him an odd face. So he did both. The boy had his eyes closed anyway. He wondered what he was doing. His smile was wonderful though.
Then suddenly Terry was wrapping his arms around him. "You know if I'm so cute, then you are very beautiful," he heard the Merman say. Though it was weird... it sounded like he was inside his head. He furrowed his brow. "I... I- um, thanks?" he stuttered. After a moment he relaxed against his friend. It felt really nice.

Terry finally snapped himself as he heard Heiko's reply. Green eyes opened and a his hand flew across his mouth as the young merman tried to stop an onslaught of giggles.
"...Sorry if I startled you. I guess I should have warned you that we merman are mind-readers. I like to play people's heads sometimes, but father always stopped me. With you, I just couldn't help myself, you do look really beautiful." Terry ended with a sincere smile and an equally sincere twinkle in his eyes.

Heiko blushed and smiled over at Terry shyly. "You're too nice," he murmured, avoiding the other boy's eyes.

The young merman continued to gaze dreamily at the equally young Zercan, boy he could really get lost in those ocean blue eyes for sure if he wasn't careful. Just then green eyes glanced over to see the golden sun outside in the sky, and it was slowly sinking below the horizon.
Green eyes widened. There was so much more Terry wanted to see it couldn't possibly get dark now! Quickly finishing the last few bites of his meal, Terry stood up, reached into his small pouch at his waist, then dropping the currency from it on to the table. He turned back to Heiko and smiled trying to look as pleasant as possible. "I'm sorry I have to leave now. There is still so much more I want to see and learn about Zercan."
However, when he moved away from the table, he movements slowed down abruptly. For some reason, it was hurting his heart to leave the boy.

"Ah, wait!" Heiko said quickly. He scampered away from the table and rushed to Terry's side. "I- You can't just go," he argued. "You have no idea where you are. I'll have to show you around. I don't want you to get in trouble again," he rambled.
The Zercan rested his hand on his friend's arm. He didn't want him to leave. Not now. Not so soon. Not ever, really. He stared at him hopefully.

Terry felt his body be set a blaze, as if a Fire Dragonis' a barbequed him whole, just from that one gentle touch. He turned his head back to glance at the Zercan only to turn back quickly as he felt his blood run hot and rush to his head.
Recovering, Terry shook his head abruptly, as one would when they just came from a swim, then turned back to blue eyed boy and smiled warmly.
"Thanks I appreciate that. It's very noble of you."
Terry retracted his arms from the boy's hold, only to grasp his hand into the Heiko's hand. "Well, where should we go first?" Terry exclaimed, excitedly beginning to swing their arms back and forth.

Heiko couldn't help laughing. Terry was so full of energy! Well, not that he wasn't also but.... He shrugged mentally and led him down the street. "I dunno," he answered. He swung his arm along with his friend's. "Is there anything in particular you want to see?"

The boy's jade hand hugged onto the other tightly with excitement as they strolled through the endless Zercan crowds. "Everything!" Terry shouted with a joyful smile. He wanted to spend every waking minute he could here before he had to leave to venture upon another new planet. However, the merman frowned slightly at that thought.
He didn't want to leave too soon. Terry wanted to spend a lot of time with Heiko, maybe even longer. Terry liked Heiko. But, Terry knew he couldn't take him home, after all like the old saying, a bird may love fish but where they build their home. Looking out of the corner of his eye at the Zercan, Terry decided he would enjoy every precious minute with this boy. However, after that, Terry was afraid he would never want to leave Heiko.

Heiko smiled. "Everything?" he repeated. "That may take awhile. But I will show you everything I can," he promised. He started to lead Terry down the street. Really, he had never given a tour of 'everything' before, so he wasn't sure where to start. He decided on simply showing Terry his favorite stores and restaurants and other places he likes. The Merman seemed to be enjoying himself, though, so he must have been doing something right. And he was having a wonderful time as well- and he suspected it had something to do with his company.
Heiko pulled his friend up onto the rooftop cafe. "And over there? You see that huge building?" he whispered, pointing out into the distance. It was dark out now, and only the stars and the lights lit up Zerca. "That is where the Shodan lives." He pulled him closer to the edge of the roof. "And see waaaay out there? Way way way out there?? That is where the Reyls borders begin. You can't really see it from here though. Not clearly. Maybe if you stay here long enough, we can take a trip one day and I can show you how far out the Shodan's land goes," he said hopefully. Mostly he was hopeful that Terry would be staying for a long time, he didn't want the boy to leave him.
