Matthew felt relieved when he woke up that morning. His stepfather didn't visit him last night. It's not that he hadn't thought about running away or telling an a authority figure what was going on, cause he has. It's just that he was afraid of being without his brother. He wanted his brother to have a semi normal life, and he felt he would brake down and be a lost soul without having his baby brother with him.
Matthew got ready for work and made sure Seven was awake. He made them French toast, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. Matthew heard Seven's little feet patter down the stairs.
Matthew smiled. "Good morning Seven."
Seven's little arms wrapped around his legs. "Morning hubs."
Matthew got down to Seven's level and hugged and kissed his cheek. "Go take a seat at the table."
Seven did as he was told and Matthew set the plates on the table and they ate their food, brushed their teeth and walked to the near by bookstore. Matthew dropped Seven off at the daycare next door and then flocked in at work and started his shift, ringing up books and stocking the shelves with new arrivals.

Joshua pulled his coat closer to his body as he walked down the bare street. It was cold today and most people had done the wise thing and decided to stay at home. He didn’t mid the cold much, it reminded him of his home on Jeskara where he longed to be. He was only staying here because his parents demanded it.
He sighed and kept walking, ignoring the looks he’d get from the few people out here. He’d been told he had an air about him, one that demanded attention. One he’d gladly get rid of if only to stop people staring.
Joshua paused outside a small bookshop. One thing he liked about earth was its literature; they had some amusing stories about his kind, hero’s and great adventures. After a little debating Joshua decided he might as well take a look inside. He pushed open the door to the little shop and wasn’t surprised to see it fairly empty.
He immediately started looking through the books, hoping to spot one that’d catch his eye. He’d read plenty of Vampire novels and ones about love that had made him laugh but today he wanted something different, one he’d actually take seriously.

Matthew was in the science fiction area shelving new books. He heard the door open and went to see who came in. He went to the male and put a fake smile on his face. "Hello sir, welcome to Betty and Freddie's book store. Is there anything you wanted help looking for?" He asked waiting patiently.

Joshua looked down at the smaller male, not noticing much. He was a normal human man, no boy, who worked here. He turned back to the books he was looking through and sighed.
“You might be able to help me. I’m looking for something different, old maybe. Just not another one full of clichés.”
He didn’t know if this boy would actually find something he’d like but there was no harm in trying, he didn’t have anything else planned for the day.
