Ceri smiled politely at the waitress when she set his hot chocolate in front of him. “Is there anything else I can get you?”
“No thank you.” His voice was soft and he turned from the woman, letting her get back to serving other customers. He wrapped his cold fingers around the mug, blew on the drink before taking a sip. Ever since he first came to Earth he’d had a fondness for the sweet drink.
He sighed, enjoying the taste and warmth, and turned to look out the window. He’d been back on Earth for a few weeks now, just wanting some time away from his prying family. For a while now they’d been bugging Ceri, watching him closely, cancelling their own plan’s for him. He knew they were only worried but it was just getting suffocating. He closed his eyes. For a few years now he’d just been feeling…odd, verging on depressed…and it’d been getting worse.
He couldn’t explain it, just that something was missing. Right now he was the lowest he’d ever felt. That's another reason he'd come to earth, to get away from everything would let him clear his head but he still didn’t feel right.
Ceri sighed again, something he’d been doing a lot of lately, and opened his eyes. He turned away from the window and stared down at his drink, just listening to the other people in the small but cosy café. He didn’t know how long he’d stay but he knew right now he wasn’t ready to go home.

Alec walked with Sunny along the streets of downtown, both talking and laughing. He tried to keep his mind off the male that he had met so many years ago. He didn't need to e thinking about it while he was with his fiancé.
"How about some coffee?" came the sweet, alto tone of the blonde beside him. Taking her hand, Alec agreed and let her lead him to the cafe.

Ceri glanced up from is drink when a young couple entered the small café. They were a cute couple; they looked suited for each other. The girl, a petite cheery blonde, chatted away happily to her partner as he listened silently. Ceri looked away from the girl not interested in the slightest, and over at the taller man.
He frowned taking in the man’s appearance; tall, slim, dark hair and eyes. He knew he’d seen him somewhere. Ceri’s eyes followed the two, as if he was unable to pull them away from the man.

Alec, who was now sitting down across from Sunny, glanced over at the feeling of a stare. His eyes locked with a familiar pair. He had to do a doubletake as be realized it was the very male he had been thinking about.

Ceri watched the two sit down a table. He couldn't help but feel his annoyance grow as he tried to remember why that man seemed so familiar. He didn't realize he'd been staring at him for that long until the man, as if felt his gaze, glanced up right at Ceri. He held his breath as their eyes met. Ceri's own widened slightly as he started to remember where he'd seen this man.
He'd come to earth a few years back, before he'd started to feel depressed. Ceri had wanted a break, his brother had found his mate and was expecting their first child. Ceri had felt lonely. It was a brief encounter they'd shared but the man's eyes had stayed with him. Ceri was first to break the connection and shyly glanced back down at his drink, feeling his cheeks flush slightly.

Sunny chose that moment to butt in, "Alec? Do you know him or something?"
Alec tore his eyes away from the man, focusing his attention on his fiancé, "Oh... Uh... I've seen him before. He was just familiar."
The blonde glanced back at the stranger before her eyes went back to her menu. "What kind of coffee are you planning to get?"
"The usual..." Sunny crinkled her nose at that.

Ceri continued his drink and turned to look out the window again. He didn't pay any attention to the people passing outside, instead the man still held it. Ceri's grip on the mug tightened as he frowned. Why could one man suddenly grab his full attention like that?
The cafe wasn't too crowded and it was easy for Ceri to hear a little of their conversation. So the man had recognized him as well. He hadn't realized he'd made such an impression on him.

"Something wrong with my order choice?" Alec raised an eyebrow, having noticed the usual indicator of her dislike.
"Nope." She flipped a page.
He chuckled, "Which means yes. What's wrong with sweets?"
"Everything. It doesn't taste good."
"You're a health freak and I'm a sugar junkie. It's perfect for the wedding." Alec smiled.
"I'm not a freak." Sunny pouted, though she tried to hide a smile of her own.

Ceri tried to ignore their conversation, it had nothing to do with him and it was rude. But he couldn’t help it. The man mentioned a wedding. Ceri smiled softly, it was nice to see young people finding love. He only wished he’d find his mate soon.
He glanced over at the two again, lost in their own little world. A wedding. Ceri’s chest tightened as he watched the man. He couldn’t explain t but he felt odd…at the thought of him marrying the girl. It was none of his business but…Ceri shook his head and glared down at his drink, suddenly feeling angry at himself.

Alec's own chest had been tightening at speaking about the wedding. He loved Sunny, but she seemed more like a friend than an actual girlfriend.
"Speaking of the wedding~" the woman across from him hummed. "How about a four tier cake instead of a two tier?"

Ceri tried to ignore their conversation but he just couldn’t tune it out completely. He gave out a sigh and quickly finished his drink, deciding it’d be best he just leave, he felt it was an invasion of privacy. He stood and moved to leave when he bumped into the same waitress from before.
“Ah-!” Ceri hissed as hot coffee was spilt on his front. The waitress quickly apologised and ran to get a cold cloth. Ceri’s eyes watered a little and he held his top off his skin but he knew he was already burnt.

Alec heard a crash before a sharp hiss. Turning in his seat, he noticed it was the same guy. He stood and strode to him, "Hey, man. You okay?"

Ceri was too focused on keeping his top off his body that he didn’t notice the man from before approach him until he was stood next to him. He jumped when the other spoke and glanced up, only to flush a little and quickly look back down at his top.
“I’ll be fine, it’s just burnt a little.” He lied about that, he could tell from the pain it was more than a little. He looked away from the other not meeting his eyes. The waitress came back quickly apologising over and over while handing him the cold cloth. Ceri forced a smile and said no worries as he dabbed his top, the cold cloth soothing some of the pain.

Alec couldn't figure out why he was so worried about this stranger. It was odd. He questioned quietly, "Are you sure?"

"Don't worry about me." Ceri tried to smile reassuringly at the man but as he did he accidently pressed down to hard with the cloth. He flinched as pain shot across his chest. He looked away from the other hoping he wouldn’t notice his eyes water slightly.
The waitress noticed “I’ll go get the first aid box.” She quickly left heading to the back room.
