It felt so nice to be held by Kendrick like this. Rory knew he was being stupid, but he couldn't help it as he nuzzled up against the giver and purred softly. "I wasn't insinuating that you give it up, Ken. Just curious as to how much you work. Is Lucas alone a lot of the time?"

Kendrick shook his head, "Never. He's at that daycare and we come home the same time as everyone else. I work on things once he is in bed, and while he takes his bath. My assistant helps out a lot and my partners understand that Lucas is my life, I won't give up on him. It will be easier once he starts school since he won't have to be in daycare all day, plus I have lunch with him daily.

Kendrick's explanation seemed to relax Rory and he sighed leaning more fully against Kendrick. It didn't know what in the world he was doing, but he was comfortable. Rory fell silent after that, mulling over what Kendrick had said, merely relaxing against the male in the process.

Kendrick soon heard footsteps on the stairs and placed Rory on the couch. "Lucas is coming...I don't want to confuse him..."

Rory quirked a brow. "You want me to come live with you Kendrick and he's well aware of that. What about that shouldn't be confusing?"

Kendrick looked to him, "He knows we are friends...I don't want him to think I'm replacing him or something. I need to talk to him about us first..."
Lucas came in looking a bit tired but smiled as he climbed into Rorys lap. "You stayed."

Rory furrowed his brow and gave a shake of his head. This was ridiculous. He should never had agreed to stay weekends. When Lucas ambled in though, Rory smiled and willingly brought the boy into a hug. "Of course kitling," he replied, kissing Lucas' cheek. "We were going to the park, remember? I wouldn't miss that."

Kendrick looked to him sighing and wanting to talk more, but he could not with Lucas. He just smiled to his nephew and staying silent.
Lucas grinned, "I love the park it is fun..."

"Perfect," Rory smiled, "I do too. Why don't you go get your shoes on and we can go." Ruffling the boy's hair, he nudged him from his lap, indicating to get ready. With his lap free, Rory stood as well, giving a long stretch as he headed for the door.

Kendrick moved closer to him reaching for his hand, "Are you angry I will not tell Lucas yet?"

"No, I'm not angry, Kendrick," Rory replied, pulling his own hand back out of reach. "You just need to make a decision. You can't be having me around and not expect him to get his hopes up. I don't want to hurt him like that."

"Then do so, Kendrick," was all Rory said before he went to fetch Lucas. He made sure the boy's shoes were tied properly and made him put on his coat. "C'mon then," Rory called over his shoulder, motioning to Kendrick to hurry up so they could go.

Kendrick moved forward, taking Lucas's hand with a smile. Soon Lucas took Rorys hand then started to leave.

Rory smiled down at Lucas, giving the little boy's hand a squeeze. The walk to the park wasn't far and soon Lucas was given free reign to run about as he pleased.
