It Takes Time

Bray nods and says, "Good. This give me time to think of a proper outfit to match yours on our first day." He laughs. "Don't want every hot giver hitting on you, only the nice ones."

Tyler smiles to him happy, "You won't go all protective on me will you?" he asked softly. "Like you did last year at our last school dance?"

"Well... He had it coming to him one way or another," Brayden shrugs and then ruffles his friend's hair. "Besides I know better than to piss you off unless its for a good reason. And I think the fact your date was a druggy is a good reason." The raven sticks out his tongue a moment to show he's only half serious and is poking fun at Tyler.

Tyler rolled his eyes, "He wasn't that bad of a druggy...only a few rare times. And he liked me...but oh well. Maybe this year I'll get a sweet gentleman that my parents will love...or a hot motorcycle riding rockstar...."

Its Brayden's turn to roll his eyes, "Or you may end up dateless this year... Can't we focus on our academics this year rather than men?" His tone has a touch of protectiveness, but then again, this is his best friend after all.

Tyler giggled, "I can do both," he assured. "I have a potential date already...I can't turn that down..."

Yes he could, Brayden's mind whines and this only causes him to sigh softly, "Alright. Alright... But help me get one too so we can double date, okay?"

Tyler didn't know why his heart hurt at the thought of Brayden dating. "Oh...um...sure..." he whispered looking away now.

Bray frowns, Tyler is upset, he hates it when the bearer is hurt, especially if its by him, "Hey... we don't have to. I understand that you won't want me around." He jokes in an attempt to get his beautiful friend to look at him once more. "I'll just stalk you during your dates then, third wheel for the win." His smile is cheesy as he waits for Tyler's reaction.

Tyler looked back to him biting his lip, "No. I want you around..." he told him quickly. "Maybe not dating people..." He sighed, "What if I wanted to date you?" he asked then flushed and looked away.

"Hypothetically speaking I would hypothetically say... Yes, when, where, what time will I pick you up?" Brayden says lightly, could be taken as he's joking, but he's dead serious right now. He hopes Tyler can tell.

Tyler could tell, they were best friends after all, so when he looked back to him this time he was smiling. "Tomorrow...dinner and a movie?" He asked softly, still blushing a bit.

Bray nods, unable to reply vocally. He's got a nervous smile in place and cocks his head to the side in a silent question, though he's not sure what he wants to ask. So instead he just places a hand on Tyler's shoulder, "So... Does that mean no dating random stranger number one?"

Tyler looked up to him smiling shy, "Of course not...you will be plenty to keep me busy..."

"Good,"He says as he pulls his friend and soon to be date- boyfriend?- close and into a warm hug. "Wouldn't have it any other way."
