Sparks Fly

[chocobeast]

"Okay Liam," He announced as he hit the garage door opener button. "Ready to see more of the wild wild world that is Hawaii? Tallehooooooo!"

[fearless]

Liam giggled and leaned against his mate, "This is fun..."

[chocobeast]

The sky was still a charcoal grey except along the horizon. It glowed a light blue and soft pink. There wasn't a cloud in the sky but the air smelled of dew and plumerias. And the dawn was still pretty quiet too exceot some waking songbirds chirping lazily.

Zee leaned back against Liam. The air was still a bit crisp and if he was chilly, so was Liam. "Hey, in about 5 minutes, if you wanna, we can watch the sunrise on the beach. You wanna?"

Liam nodded grinning, "I would love to..." he admitted happy. "It would be nice."

Zee angled the sputtering scooter towards the beach with a grin. He knew that this was just one of a ton of adventures he would lead Liam on.

"Oh My Gosh, you will love this."He coo'd as he spurred the scooter on to go faster.

Liam leaned into his mate already liking that the scooter did not go fast in the cool air. "I would not doubt that..." he whispered.

Within minutes, Zee was cresting a shallow hill overlooking the vast deep blue ocean. The salty spray was thick in the air and tasted great.

Zee paused the scooter and leaned over to look at Liam. "You wanna stop here? Or do ya wanna go down to the beach down there? You choice."

Liam smiled, "I would like to sit on the beach with you while we watch the sun come up..."

[chocobeast]

"Your wish is my command." Zee announced as he reignited the sputtering motor. "Hold on tight Liam!" He yelled as he angled the antique to take the steepest grade possible. "Ready?"

Liam giggled then nodded, "I'm ready."

Zee kicked his feet up and howled into the crisp pre-dawn air. The old scooter started out slow at first. But within 3 seconds, it was going soo fast that it's whole frame was shaking. It whined loudly in protest. But that was really hard to hear over Zee's excitement.

Liams eyes went huge and the bike sped up, he hadn't expected that. He held tight to Zee scared the whole thing would come apart.

Zee leaned back into Liam to help him feel support. He had done this hill a hundred thousand times on his bike and scooter. It was the best hill ever for a young kid with an adventerous spirit!

At 3/4 down the hill, he stopped howling and applied the brake gently. He knew just how to do it. Though his adrenaline was rushing and his face was about to break with how huge his smile was.

At the perfect edge of where the road met the beachsand, Zee came to a gentle stop. Breathlessly, he whispered, "God I love that hill."

Liam gasped when they stopped and bit his lip. "How did you get it to go that fast?" he asked softly. "I thought it just went slow."

"I put it in Neutral." Zee chuckled as he slipped easily off of the silent antique. He held a hand out to Liam. "I'll grab a blanket if you check the lunchpack to see if Mom packed a coffee thermos."
