When I landed I was a mess of crying dragon and the things I was to pick up are spilled out among the tents as I morph back. Agony rippling through my body, being denied is worse than being shot through.I wish those police had to me... I... I... "I need him."

When I woke up the next morning, I knew something was horribly wrong.
As I glanced at the kitchen clock on my way out, I noticed it was six oclock in the morning - who the hell gets up at this hour?
Oh wait - I do. Especially when I'm torn with guilt.
In order to avoid going back home I spent the next door hours sitting in my usual spot, drawing aimlessly. Eventually, my drawings took on a fantasy feature of dragons for some odd reason. A sardonic smile touched my lips - Imagine if we told the police a dragon burnt down our front door!
The smile faded as I thought of him. I hoped he'd walk past soon.

Che had spent the night with me and once he was sure I was okay he notified me that I was needed to return to the city. That I had to make peace with myself before I could live here again. Nodding I had left, now I wonder aimlessly down streets and some how end up in the park again, the whole time I was hugging myself and on the verge of crying again, but not allowing myself to. I've gotta get a grip on myself.

There. Crying bitterly, arms wrapped around himself in absolute agony. Sympathy and guilt twinged in me in equal parts as I watched him walk slowly along the path. Before I knew it, I'd put down my sketchbook and walked over to meet him, halting him in his tracks. I spoke first.
"Look. I don't know who or what the fuck you are, but...I'm sorry for not accepting your help. I should have. And...my name's Darren. Just....thought you should know."

"Darren?" I speak slowly before it clicks, my mate is before me, speaking to me. He told me his name, respond dummy! "I'm Alejandro, but most call me Al." My voice shaky as I speak. And I fight the urge to just hug him and cry into his chest.

I don't normally shake hands with new people. In fact, I never do. But I made an exception for Al.
"Nice to meet you." I hold out my hand, looking up at him expectately.

Taking his hand I smile as I feels the confirmation jolt down my spine. Yup, we're mates alright.

I ignore the static shock that jumps between our hands - I must of rubbed my hand over my cotton jumper. His eyes held mine; suddenly sparkling with joy. I felt uneasy; yet at the same time incredibly happy he'd forgiven me.
"Thanks. So...can I ask what the hell you are?" I asked bluntly. "I take it you aren't a government experiment."

.............
I couldn't think of anything to say after that. So I laughed instead.
"...Dragonis. You mean like...dragons?"
Al nodded somberly. I continued to crack up; hysteria slowly entering my system.
There's a freaking bloodthirsty dragon standing right in front of me. And all I can do is laugh?!
I blame my lack of instincts. Really; I have none. Would I continue to stay with that man who calls himself my father if I had an iota of self-preservation?

I wiped the tears from my eyes, still chortling. "Just peachy. A dragon is standing in front of me and I'm not running away. It's all good."
I let out one last laugh before realizing I was being stared at; wide eyes taking in my mirth. I sober up completely, putting my unresponsive mask back on.
"Right. Well....I dunno bout you, but i'm gonna go sit back on that bench over there. You're welcome to join me."

As I follow him I frown, "You're pushing the world away... Why?"

I felt uneasy. "I don't know what you're talking about." I told him tonelessly. "Either you sit down without the 20 questions, or you can just fuck off."

"Fine," I take a seat next to him and just watch Darren, confused. Worried. Scared. And most definitely nervous.
