Define Normal... ((Kai/Nahrin))

A warm hand grasped my shoulder and pulled my gently around. The instant I saw those worried blue eyes my body relaxed and I literally threw myself at him; holding him so tightly I'm sure he was in pain.

I didn't understand what was happening. The second I saw him coming to rescue me I'd felt safe. Safe. Despite us being outnumbered and the leader holding a knife, I was so sure he'd save me.

And now? Just holding him close made me feel the safest I've ever felt in my life.

He pushed me back and gently examined my face; cursing lowly at the state of my tongue. For some reason, seeing him care stirred something in me.

I leant forward and pushed my lips to his. For one monumental moment, I enjoyed how soft yet firm his lips were; gentle against my own.

Then I jerked back and made a run for it, making it all the way home and in my bedroom before Kai or my foster parents could stop me.

I stood in the ally, alone. One second, he was kissing me, the next, he was gone. I scratched my head, and went back to the hotel.

I was mortified.

Yes, I vaguely understood that he considered me his soul mate - but to jump right in and kiss him?

I couldn't deny I liked it. I did. A lot. But...what would he think of me now? It would be so awkward!

"Mr Thornbull!"

My head shot off my desk. "Huh?"

"Where is your essay?"

My mind blank, I stared at him for several minutes before I understood. "Oh! Uh, I sent it to you."

He moved on to the next person. I sighed and leant my head back on the cool surface of my desk.

I need to get that damn kiss out of my mind before I go crazy.

I sat in my hotel room, alone. Anjin had taken everyone else out to explore. I felt a pain in my chest, knowing it was due to being away from my Rin. Tears began running down my cheeks, and I started crying. Did he not want to be with me anymore? Does he hate me? I sat myself up, and pulled out a razor blade from the bathroom drawer. Running the blade across my skin, I retreated to my old habits. Little did I know that Rin was feeling the pain of the cutting...

A sharp pain ran over my left wrist; making me gasp and shoot straight up from the desk. There was no mark to prove I'd been hurt; but continous parallel lines streaked over the unmarked skin, leaving sharp stabs of pain in their wake.

"Mr Thornbull?"

I look to see the entire lecture hall staring at me. "I...I gotta go." I managed to get out before I'd grabbed my bag and was running out the door. An overwhelming want - no, need - was making itself known.

Kai. See Kai. Save Kai.

From what, I didn't know. But I didn't question it and headed straight for the Plaza.

I kept running the blade over my arm, until it was covered in crimson. I just wanted to die. Suddenly, as I was about to make another cut, the door flew open. Rin rushed into the room, and gasped.

[Neko Scot]

"Fuck!"

I couldn't help but swear at the sight of Kai and blood all over his arms. I dived for the razor and threw it across the room; tugging Kai forcefully into my arms and holding him tight in shock.

"What the hell were you doing to yourself?" I demanded harshly. "Don't do that! Ever! You hear me?!"

Kai gave a weak nod. I took pity on his pathetic expression and sighed, standing up and taking him with me.

"Let's go get you cleaned up, m'kay?" Without thinking, I pressed a gentle kiss to his clammy forehead as we walked.

[Lizzy the Fluff Master]

"O-okay. Rin, I-I'm s-s-sorry. I j-just wanted t-to die. I-I-I can't imagine a l-life without you..." I mumbled, tears running down my cheeks. However, I passed out a second later from blood loss.

After cleaning Kai and putting him safely in the nearest bed, I paced impatiently by the bed, stressing over how pale he looked. I could call an ambulance.....But what if he can't be examined by doctors? He could be dying from blood loss...I thought magical beings were stronger than humans?

However, all of these questions would have to wait, as I heard footsteps in the hallway outside the bedroom, and a multitude of voices exclaiming over the open front door.

(Anjin POV)

When I saw the open door, I knew that something was gravely wrong. I immediately went to go see Kai, and gasped at what I saw. My oldest brother, the man who had practically raised me, was lying on the bed, unconscious and pale as snow. Nahrin was also there, staring at me with big eyes. I grabbed Kai's hand, and glared at the boy whom I thought must have done this.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I screamed at Nahrin, and was ready to kill him when my elder sister Yuna entered the room.

"Anjin... Nahrin didn't do this. Kai did it to himself. I caught him cutting himself once, and made him swear never to do it again. The last time he did it was after Mom lost the baby..." She explained calmly. "He needs to go to the hospital. An underground hospital run by Zercans. It's under this hotel, follow me." She picked Kai up, and led us to the elevator. With her foot, she kicked a small, hidden button on the bottom of the far elevator wall.

I followed the group in a daze. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to or not; they never said much to me. But I sure as hell wasn't going to leave Kai alone - not when he was like that. So I followed them without a word; silently praying Kai would be allright.

When we arrived at the underground hospital. The doctor took Kai and got him to a Medi-Box. He as placed inside, and we waited in the waiting room for it to do it's work.

"Nahrin... I'm sorry for how I acted towards you. I was just worried, but it doesn't excuse my behavior. You are family now, and deserve to be treated as such." I apologized sincerely, and to further prove my point, I hugged him lightly. "You are my brother now. Feel free to talk to me if you ever need to. I'll be there to listen anytime."

It felt weird hugging someone other than Kai, but I accepted the hug, if somewhat tersely.

Worry and guilt churned my insides as we waited; occasionally talking to eachother to ward off the silence.

When Kai recovered, I'd tell him what I really felt.

(Kai Again!)

When my eyes opened, all I saw was white. Bright, white light.

"I-is this Heaven?" I asked, noticing that the pain in my arm was gone.

"No, this is the Zercan Earth Hospital- Plaza Hotel Branch." A doctor explained as I sat up. "Your siblings and mate are waiting for you outside." At the mention of Rin, I jumped out of the Medi-Box, and raced to go see him. The second I saw him, I pulled my mate into my arms, where he belongs.

"I'm never letting you go again."
