Cael nodded then stood to go to his room. He stopped suddenly though and touched his stomach gasping. "Something...hurts..."

Aani immediately rose, "Show me where," he said to Cael before shouting into the intercom on his wrist for med-tech support."

Cael showed him then looked to him frightened, "I...is the baby coming?" he asked softly.

The doctor rushed in and looked them over, "Aani what seems to be the problem..."

Aani directed the doctor to his mate and assisted him in locating the painful area all the while soothing back his mate's hair in what he hoped was a calming gesture.

The doctor used the A.I. to peak at the baby then smiled to Cael. "The baby is just moving into position for birth. Which means you will be giving birth in a few days. I can give you something to help with the pain."

Cael leaned into Aani letting him calm him. He sat up to see the baby then smiled, "Yea...as long as it doesn't hurt him..."

Aani nearly felt tears prick his eyes when his mate leaned into him. It was then that he knew he had to reverse this curse ere the baby was born.

Cael grinned to him, "Look...my baby..." he whispered touching his stomach. "Hes beautiful..."

"Our baby," Aani whispered softly, unable to resist moving his hand over his mate's.

Cael flushed then looked to him before nodding, "Yea...maybe..." he whispered then looked to his hand it felt nice. "I was worried...thought something was wrong..."

"Nothing can be wrong," he whispered in his mate's ear. More hurt than ever at that 'maybe'. "We're together again."

Cael nodded once more relaxing against him. He fell to sleep on him though exhausted from the stress and his body trusting him.

Aani waited until the doctor was gone and dared to rest his head atop the man's tummy. Just needing to be close to his family.

Cael purred in his sleep as the baby kicked at Aani, knowing he was his father.

Aani finally pulled away from his sleeping mate and kit to head back to the bridge. "I need a list of wizards and now." He instrcted his A.I.

Cael woke up a few minutes after he left, his body not able to rest without him. Somehow he knew Aani was his mate, but he feared it was a trick. He made his way to him rubbing his eyes sleepy as he watched him silently from the doorway.
